How do you sub between quarters?

I change my players but they don't get put in at the start of the quarter.

make sure that you press the "confirm" button before the huddle breaks. once the huddle breaks, the players you want to put in the game will check in at the next dead ball.

no you cant i think...ive been trying to find a way to do that...what i do is sub the players before a particular quarter ends so they show up start of next quarter

You can use the pause menu between quarters or change linups on the fly just before a quarter ends.

If you pause menu, you can't get the sub menu out.
