Micheal Beasley

Sat Oct 18, 2008 3:42 am

I know this is nitpicky but, has anyone noticed that Micheal Beasly is 6'8 on the game, however he is recorded as 6'10 according the NBA official Miami Heat roster?

Is there anyway to correct this?

There's no way to edit original player heights but we can report these issues to EA Sports so that they may be corrected in the NBA Live 365 updates. Unfortunately, that does leave PS2, Wii and PSP players out in the cold.

Beasley isn't 6'10"....I think he listed at about 6'7 & 1/2" in pre-draft measurements....at most, he's 6'9" with shoes....but he's not 6'10" with shoes....

nevertheless, the option should be available to edit heights....

Beasley is somewhere around 6'8 to 6'9, defenitely not 6'10 when I saw him face Sheed last week, sp therefore, I think it's all good (Y)

that's why I prefer the metric system... more accurate when it comes to heights, so a mistake by 2 units doesn't lead to the guy growing an additional 5 centimeters

well we have to follow the official listing on the nba website. i remember larry johnson when he got drafted he listed himself at 6'7 but he's actually 6'5 1/2

it has nothing to do with the metric and imperial systems. in basketball, the tendency is to embellish actual height of a player to make them seem more imposing/valuable. it's happened a lot over the years especially for undersized PFs that happend to be good rebounders, like Barkley and Ben Wallace.

EA Sports-It's in the game. We may not know what "it" is, but it certainly isn't their heads.

well i hope they correct this with patches once the season starts. i downloaded the latest roster file and beasley is still listed at 6'8. Another player not listed correctly is kevin love i think in nba live he is listed at 6'9

Michael Beasley's correct Height is 6'8" 1/4, so live 09's measurement is correct

Are we following nba live's measurement or the current height listed at nba.com? In my opinion ea sports should follow the official height listed on nba.com. We have known throughout the years that players do not give their actual height. Their reason is that they don't play without wearing their shoes. So if a certain player is actually 6'5 and he's wearing basketball shoes. He usually adds at least an inch or two on his actual height.

I would think the rule of thumb would be to follow the official listings, even if another listing is technically correct.
