New Producer Blog: NBA Live 365

Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:49 pm

Another producer blog, this one talking about NBA Live 365 and Dynamic DNA, has been posted over at the official NBA Live 09 website and can be found here. Amongst other things, the blog mentions that EA Sports has an exclusive five year deal with Synergy Sports for the 365 feature.

Dynamic DNA and Synergy Sports is great but the game play is not that great when you compare with NBA 2K that why NBA 2k series stay on top for 5 years now.

Amongst other things... like bashing the competitor in his blog. Sean went below the belt a couple of times talking about the exclusive and how the competitor doesn't have it.

Yea Sean we get it, next you'll talk about how you've acquired the NBA License. I'm sure in your spare time you play 2k for fun just like your previous cover boy Arenas who went public with it.

Well, Dynamic DNA is a noteworthy part of the game's AI this year.

Sean O'brien set the record straight. It's weird how many people don't really seem to care about Live 365/DNA, especially after 2K announced they would be having one person update the rosters when it seems meaningful to do so.

In short-

Dynamic DNA - updates tendencies, ratings, transactions(including new players), every day of the nba season.

Living Rosters - updates rosters, and probably a couple new animations, whenever the 2k insider feels like it.

There are positives in both versions.

Absolutely, especially the suggestion that EA has ignored the AI to work on DNA/365 when DNA is actually part of the Player AI in NBA Live 09. I think a lot of people just look at the feature as a daily roster update (which in itself isn't a bad feature given our limited ability to update the console version ourselves) but I guess people do get apprehensive at the names of some of these features, fearing it may be just another gimmick that doesn't deliver what we want.

Whether or not DNA/365 will deliver as most of us would like remains to be seen but a lot of people seem to have written it off before the game's even out.
