Wow, that's sweet! I can't wait to play this year. Those plays out of the triangle looked real good. Nice job for finding this, Huddy187.

Look how Easy Kobe got to the basket for a Slam Dunk!!! Game look good styll

Did anyone noticed the good court spacing its wonderful. The Lakers court looks nearly perfect. I love the smoothness of the animations. This feature and the improved player movement will definitely make running plays easier than it has been in past years.

Great defensive sequence:
Image
    1. Kobe left alone at the 3pt line.
    2. Defender slowly walks up to him.
    3. Defender positions himself to the right of Kobe (With his feet together and arms at his sides). Kobe then proceeds to drive AT the defender, whom of course slides a bit further to the right. All while holding the ball right in front of the defender.
    4. Kobe puts the ball in the defenders chest.
    5. Kobe puts the ball in between the defenders knees.
    6. Defender could no longer be bothered moving his lower body anymore.

    (7. Help defender (Howard) get's out of Kobe's way as fast as possible, then turns around to watch him dunk)

Nice Find.

That has nothing to do with the difficulty setting. No ballhandler in their right mind dribbles with the ball inbetween him and the defender.

I was thinking the same thing!! It should be an easy steal, but you know theyd call foul on you if you reach in

Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:42 pm

I'd say the resistance the defense is putting up is a reflection of the difficulty level though. As usual, the videos are showing off the offensive play, I've yet to see the same sort of Lockdown Defense coming into play in any of the previews compared to the game I played.

Maybe you played NBA 2k9 LMAO lol. Just jokin'

Fri Aug 15, 2008 3:21 pm

Well, the build I played did actually have the NBA Live 08 intro video with Gilbert Arenas knocking down the game winning shot as a placeholder. Everything else was most assuredly NBA Live 09 though. ;)

Whatever you say. . . I'll take your word for it

I'm very concerned at the lack of defense shown in the videos. Also whenever there's a feature on game play, they focus on Dynamic DNA (TM). It's the pet feature this year, and it's the only thing they focus on.

Isn't Dynamic DNA the way players change based on real life NBA play? What if I'm playing my season during the real NBA off season?

The Player DNA will always be part of the AI and can be tweaked manually if you prefer. The daily updates however will only be available during the 2008/2009 season.
