Producer Blog: Gameplay

Another producer blog has been posted over at the official website, this one offering a rundown on gameplay. You can check it out here.

Something that certainly caught my eye:

Finally, just wanted to thank the guys that have been up here recently to give us feedback on the build. We had the two finalists from the NBA Live Challenge in for a couple of days to play the game non-stop about a month ago. And, most recently, brought in eight guys from the Community to ask questions, play the game and tell us what they thought. We've been able to address a lot of the things that were brought up from a gameplay standpoint, like rebounds and passes, and it was nice getting honest and constructive impressions of the game.

That's certainly encouraging. I hope the issue with the running leaners being executed too easily/frequently has been addressed too.

If what they say is true, then it's indeed encouraging. However, i'm sure there'll be some reservations to how much improvement was made from the feedback given until the game is released in Oct...

Of course. I came away from playing the early build feeling positive and optimistic but I'm keen to get my hands on a demo so I can spend some more time testing out how the CPU plays.

Any idea when the demo will be released, Andrew?

I'd assume probably no earlier than a month before the game comes out, which would place it around early September.

I really liked the fact that NBA Live '09 really addresses some of the core issues that have always surrounded gameplay. When the producer said "You can play any style you'd like and try to win. And it's fun," that really caught my interest.

Looks like they really went back to the darwing board and overhauled every phase of the game. I am sure that many more improvements to come and that many players will end up liking NBA Live '09 to keep playing for a very long time.

NBA Live '09 is already my favorite game and it's not even out yet!
