Postby Nick on Sat Nov 08, 2003 9:24 pm

Somebody fill me in on what's happening with Eddie Griffen? I've been hearing things like, he's gone nutty and left the league for a year and stuff... kinda find it hard to believe but what's his story?

Somebody got an article or something? Thanks.

He no-showed at various points during training camp and the pre-season, and has been suspended indefinitely.

His career isn't over, but I think he needs to clean up his act.

Houston police are investigating a 21-year-old woman's allegations that Griffin struck her in the face and shot at her early Saturday at his southwest side home. No charges have been filed.

Griffin reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and shot at her at his southwest Houston home early Saturday.

With the suspended forward missing from practices for more than two weeks and facing a police investigation while seeking treatment for "emotional problems," the Rockets passed on their option to extend Griffin's contract to a fourth season, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Shame on the league?

What?

NBA.com takes out a name on the roster when that person is suspended

I checked the rosters opening day to see if Chris Webber and Jason Richardson were listed were their teams and they were listed.

I believe Eddie Griffin will be released from Houston.

As for Maurice Taylor I think it's the same as Griffin, I believe it's up to the team's pr people to remove these names from rosters.

Probably cause they were not suspended indefinitely like Griffin. Last year nba.com took out of the roster Kemp when by mistake he was suspended indefinitely by his team.

I wasn't aware C-Webb was suspended. I thought he was still recovering from knee surgery?

Maurice Taylor is not suspended indefinitely, he's suspended for 10 games.

Andrew,
Webber was suspended for 3 games for pleading guilty to a charge of lying to a Michigan Grand Jury.

Of course, I'm sure I read that at some point - it obviously slipped my mind. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
