NEW YORK, Nov. 3 – New Orleans’ Baron Davis and Seattle’s Rashard Lewis were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Tuesday, October 28 through Sunday, November 2.
Davis led the Hornets to a 3-0 record by averaging 24.7 points, 8.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 5.00 steals.
Lewis led the SuperSonics to a 2-0 record while they opened the season in Japan. In two games he averaged 37.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Boston’s Vin Baker, Chicago’s Tyson Chandler, Detroit’s Ben Wallace, Indiana’s Al Harrington, Los Angeles Lakers’ Karl Malone and Gary Payton, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, New Jersey’s Jason Kidd, Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson, Phoenix’s Stephon Marbury, Toronto’s Vince Carter and Washington’s Jarvis Hayes.
