I wouldn't say the Cavaliers were a weak team just because they were swept. I would say they were definitely weaker than the Spurs but that doesn't mean they're necessarily weak, only weak by comparison. Any team that reaches the NBA Finals has to have played some pretty good basketball to get there.

I do agree with your main sentiment though and to further your point, no matter how overmatched the Cavs were in the Finals it doesn't change the fact that the Spurs had tough matchups elsewhere and overcame other obstacles to become the champions last year. Their victory was as legit as any other NBA champion and they shouldn't be taken lightly. I doubt that the Lakers are doing that, even with a 2-0 series lead.

I think Kwame Brown was part of the trade.

Horry may not be out for blood against his former Laker teammates so Kobe and Fisher are safe from him, but he wasn't teammates with some of the current Lakers.
Gasol or Odom are going to go down hard.

Duncan became angry in game 3. Around 20-20 in points and rebounds.

Tough loss for LA, a lot of shots just weren't falling and SA's shots were falling nicely.

Damn impressive game by Duncan with 22 boards and Manu was on fire from downtown. The rest did him well.

Lamar Odom and Derek Fisher have got to get going in game 4, especially Lamar Odom. Whenever he's playing well, the rest of the Lakers are playing well. He's the toughest person to guard when he's got it going on.

What I like about him is that he gets so much done. Rebounding, defense, involving other players...and when he hasn't got it going on, then the offense seems stagnant. Lot of one/two possessions, lots of dribbling or letting Bryant score.

Anyways, let's see how game 4 shapes up. Let's hope they can steal one in SA. :)

Good game for the Spurs. Big 3 played well and now hopefully we can carry on this momentum to Games 4, 5, 6 and finish these Lakers off.

Tue May 27, 2008 2:23 am

The Spurs look a bit more formidable after that one, though until Ginobili hit his first couple of threes it looked like they were in for another stagnant performance. That off-balance three Ginobili hit under pressure to beat the shot clock was incredible, Kobe's three point barrage in the fourth quarter was impressive too. It seems there's a lot of fight left in the Spurs and so there should be. I don't like their chances of becoming the ninth team to come back from a 3-1 deficit, they'll need to bring more of the same if they wish to avoid that.

Not that it had any impact on the outcome but what was the story behind Fisher's technical? He was half off-screen in the replay but it looked like he was simply pumping his fist after Radmanovic's layup, not threatening or arguing with an official. Surely they didn't consider it taunting.

Tue May 27, 2008 2:40 am

Agreed, I just saw that call as one of the "non-agreeable" calls. I think he was just hyped that the basket was made given there was a lot of close misses and on that particuliar play, there was a lot of contact. Despite that all, the shot was made...so he celebrated.

Atleast that's my take on the whole thing, I think if it was meant for the ref, the fist pump would've occured way before Rad's made shot, more like just after Fisher didn't make the shot.

Tue May 27, 2008 3:35 am

As lamrock. said in the poll "manu must die"...if LA wants to get to the finals

Tue May 27, 2008 3:48 am

Thats why they give refs guns now.

Lakers/Celtics here we come!

That would seem to be the case but then brings us back to the possibility he was T'd up for taunting. Perhaps he made some remark as he pumped his fist and began to run back on D. Not a huge deal since it didn't have much impact on the game but a strange incident nevertheless. The NBA's been a bit better on the quick technicals this season in my opinion, which makes a call like this stand out.

Sanguango wrote:As lamrock. said in the poll "manu must die"...if LA wants to get to the finals

That's also pushing it a bit. Sasha did a great job on him defensively, Manu just made a lot of amazing shots. A lot of under pressure shots that still went in. I wouldn't depend on those kind of shots to win the series.

Anyways, those are your beliefs and you're entitled to them, so I'll just wait it out and see how the series turns out. It's an entertaining series, that's for sure.

I'm not sure if you are trying to prove his point or not.

Tue May 27, 2008 8:39 am

Fuck trying to prove a point.
You old ass shits.
Lakers in 08 Bitch.

I'm starting to like how it feels being a Laker fanboy. I get a license to diss you guys because we have the MVP, we have a winning team with the no. 1 record in the West, and a coach who won the same number of championships as Red Auerbach.

Lakers in 08 Bitches.

Tue May 27, 2008 8:51 am

You "fans" are a disgrace to the Lakers organisation. :shake:

To the whole NBA and anything sports related for that matter. But anyhow, live...let live. Be an ignorant anus for the remainder of your life.

I actually have to isolate myself for atleast 16 hours because I never get to watch the games live. I'm forced to "get" them as soon as they have been put online. Can't visit the forums, can't go to news sites, can't watch the news, can't go on MSN given that fucking MSN Video ad bar on the bottom gives away the score sometimes.

So yeah, I'm actually totally disconnected from any sort of media until I've watched the game.

Tue May 27, 2008 9:32 am

Lakers in 08 Bitch

If you want to stick around, don't do that.

Tue May 27, 2008 10:01 am

Why Lakers fans hate so much San Antonio.? (N)
I didn't say anything like that when the Spurs won the series against the Hornets. :shake:

As Jackal said, come on, show some respect.

And please start typing correctly, this is a forum, not a text message or something.
