Feel sorry for great guys on bad teams!

Hey! Don't u feel sorry for players who are pretty good but are stuck on an under-achieving team or just a crap team! It'd be pretty frustrating!

One guy is Shareef Abdur-rahim...poor guy...went to Vancouver who sucked and now is in Atlanta who didn't play like we thought they would!

Who else are there???

I feel worse for guys who bring their teams to the playoffs every year but never win the championship. But I do agree, it would suck to be a guy like Shareef or Elton Brand.

well at least Brand and Shareef could go to the playoffs and maybe win a championship in their career....look at Stockton (maybe Malone)...19 seasons of Playoff and no championship...

i have no sympathy for 'reef. last year, that atlanta team had it's best chance at making the playoffs, and they crapped in their pants. 'reef and jamison are similar players.. get good stats on bad teams & don't make their teammates better

brand- i felt sorry for him in his rookie year. but not the following year...

felt sorry for stockton...

I think Dominique Wilkins deserves a mention for being a great (yet underrated) player on a slightly better than mediocre team.

The Warriors have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs, what're you talking about?

The west is too competitive, Van Exel isnt happy in GS as we all know, if he isnt happy, he wont play like his normal self. Make the playoffs? With what team? Dampier, White PF (forgot his name, Troy is it?), Dunleavy who is a :?: , Richardson and an unhappy Van Exel? Sure (Y), write em up for the trophy too. (Y). Maybe they do make the playoffs, you never know, but Van Exel is unhappy and he's on a bad team so I feel sorry for him. Players set out to play in the NBA to win rings, that aint gonna be happening for the Warriors any time soon. I feel bad for Van Exel. Sorry you disagree  .

Golden State doesn't have a chance at making the playoffs, but it's a very slim chance, nowhere near as good as last year's opportunity when they spent a couple of games over .500 late in the season. These days, you can fail to qualify for the playoffs out west even with a winning record. Most likely, it's back to the lottery for the Warriors.

every player in nba is a great player! thats y thery are in the nba in the first place! all players have the ability to score 40ppg, get 20 rpg, it just depends on what players the team wants to be the leader! how do u expect LAC to ever win some if all their best players want to go to a superstar team? out of the millions of plyers who play and played in nba only the very few get rememberd.
hold on, let me remember how many years it took MJ to win a championship? 8? how many years Brand been here, what about reef? and both of them put together is not even half of MJ. every year there is only one Championship only 8 spots on playoff tree for 15v and 16 teams! if the players are not good enouph to take their team to the playoffs then they dont belong there.
everyone was saying look at MJ how selfish he was, look at AI, and now look at were it got them, MJ got 6 rings AI took a team by himself to the finals! u look at ta guy like EB who is quite and like Reef, they are too quite, both were the leaders of their own team and their personalaty got in the way!

no.....there are maybe only 3 players who can do that, and that are Shaq, Kobe and Tracy. And in rebounding....do U see Tyronn Lue get 20 boards a game? )I dont think so.

you cant compare these players with Mike. Mike was individual waaay better then they are now
veryone was saying look at MJ how selfish he was, look at AI, and now look at were it got them, MJ got 6 rings AI took a team by himself to the finals

MJ was on a good team, so U cant say that he was a superstar on a bad team. And AI didnt do it all by himself, Dikembe was also a key player in the Sixers road to the finals.....but they lost

I do not feel sorry for Shareef Abdur-Rahim or Elton Brand. I feel sorry for Hawks fans who have to deal with the fact that Pau Gasol plays for Memphis and Lorenzen Wright, Brevin Knignt (Jake and Outlaw in return) and the fact that Reef is a gutless chump.

As for Elton Brand, I doubt he is fully to blame for the fact that no team under his leadership has won ever, but one has to wonder.

These players produce on paper, but never on the court.

Many players have put up numbers (Danny Manning, Charles Barkley) but never did anything else, Barkley won the MVP in 1993 and led them to the finals that same year. Did not win, he played from 1984-1999 or something and nothing.

Players like Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Hakeem Olajuwon, Magic Johnson and so forth possess another skill, one in which I believe Jason Kidd and mentioned players lack. The ability to lead their team to very last moments and put a ring on.

Reef and Brand are heartless ghosts of their stats when the game is being decided.

thats not what i meant, almost all Fowards can gt 20 rpg and almost all players can average 40 ppg, all the coach has to do is make sure they get the ball and those payers get the box out for some rebounds. just like paul_pierce_the_truth said, they dont go far enouph.
and with the MJ comparismant, what i was saying is that it took a great player such as MJ 8 years to get a ring, 8 years for everyone to come togther, 8 years to turn around a franchise, and here u say u feel sory for EB whos been in the nba 5 years with no succsess. neither EB nor reef nor Pau or any other players who are good have half the skill of Stockton and malone, Hakkem, Magic, Kobe. everything takes time!

If you think about it having good guys on "bad" teams is better because this is what makes a team a team.

If you put all the good players on the same team and never put them on "bad" teams it would be retarded.
