Other Leagues?

Postby Andrew on Tue Sep 30, 2003 7:31 pm

I noticed that the nbalive.org forum features a section for discussions regarding other basketball leagues. In the NLSC Forum, such posts are either left in NBA Talk or moved to Other Sports. If there's sufficient interest, I would be happy to add an Other Basketball Leagues section.

Well, let me know.

Personally, I dont care, I wouldnt venture over there that often, I'm not really interested in any other league excepting the NBA. There could be guys out there who would enjoy it though, like the Phillipine League and Asian League, I think those guys would have a blast.

I think we should give it a try and see how it goes.

Because personally I think moderators would have their hands full. Because based on my experiences on the asia-basket.com and the asianbasketball.com boards, things tend to get personal when questions on who has the best league, the best national teams etc... come up. (Although those boards were unmoderated)

But it would be interesting to know if there are potential NBA draftees making waves in some unknown corner of the globe. Or where former NBA players are playing right now.

Voting seems pretty even at the moment. For those people who voted "No"...are you opposed to the idea, or simply just not interested in having such a forum? If it's just a matter of not having a use for such a forum, then I'll consider creating the forum for those who are interested. But if you see a serious problem with it, let me know.

Well, I voted no, I am not interested in the idea, but as I said, others might be (Y).

Yeah, there should have been a "I don't care" option, my vote would have gone there, it would have been easier to know if people mind or dont mind a new forum. So any updates on the situation Andrew? Is it coming or not?

It seems that most of people who voted No don't care either way - they're just saying they don't have any interest in such a forum - so it's basically the same as having an "I don't care" option.

I haven't really decided. I guess there wouldn't be any harm in trying it, but I won't add a new forum just yet.

The NBL is the only other league I have any sort of remote interest in, and I've probably only seen the league mentioned 3 or 4 times since I've been here over the last 3 years. So i guess i'm in the minority. I voted yes though.

The Other Basketball Leagues section has been open for a few days. If you're interested (I know at least 22 people are ), you can start posting about other professional and amateur leagues.
