NBA Player NOT Shot At DeShawn Stevenson's Party

Tue Aug 21, 2007 1:50 am

I CAN'T FEEL MY FACE!?

No, but whoever the unidentified NBA Player that was shot at DeShawn's party probably can't feel his leg.

A professional basketball player was injured in a shooting in Orange County early Monday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at the home of DeShawn Stevenson, a guard with the Washington Wizards, officials said.

The unidentified NBA player suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said.

The identity of the shooting suspect was not immediately released, and it's not known if the gunman is in custody.

Stevenson's home is located in a gated community in west Orange County. Investigators said a party was going on at the time of the shooting, and several NBA players were in attendance.

SOURCE

I'm guessing it's another Wizards player, and knowing all the tricks the Wiz pull on rookies (not to mention his gunshot wound history...) it could turn out to be Andray Blatche. Again.

HM... damn the NBA has become really dangerous lately.

seems it was over some women the players picked up, nothing like a jealous boyfriend(and a cheating woman) to fuck up someones career

Man, not good times to be an NBA player. You don't see this kind of stuff this often from other sports (except maye football when a Denver player was shot).

Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:29 am

they are saying now that it was not an nba player

Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:32 am

Oh, wtf? How did they think it was an NBA player in the first place, the guy was unidentified.

Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:38 am

Dude probably was 6'10 and black

But either way its still related to the NBA through Stevenson.

just hope it wasn't arenas, or t-mac

The women were hookers trying to give it up for free, and the man who was shooting was their pimp.

Investigators said a man who was identified as Curtis Ruff was treated at Health Central Hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg and was driving a vehicle that matched the suspect's vehicle involved in the shooting.

So he shot himself?

it could turn out to be Andray Blatche. Again.

That's the first thing that I thought...That would've been pretty bad fucking luck

The story was probably leaked as such because a fellow NBA player getting shot at Deshawn Stevenson's party makes for an attention grabbing headline. Either that or somebody got the story muddled up before more details became known.

David Stern isn't having a very good Summer is he?

Even though it wasn't an NBA player who was shot, the publicity is just as bad especially since this occured at an NBA player's party.

oh ok, good, nothing to worry about then, if it was a NBA Player my bet it would be someone from Denver no doubt.

I would suggest that a man being shot at Deshawn Stevenson's party is still something of a worry, though perhaps not as big a concern for the NBA.

i think jing said it correctly, the man was probably a really tall black male and since he was around other nba players he would probably just lumped in with them

According to an Orange County sheriff's report, Stevenson and friends met several women at a nightclub and invited them back to the NBA player's home in an Orlando suburb. Witnesses told deputies they were followed into the gated community by a Cadillac Escalade.

The driver of the Escalade argued with one of the women then reportedly opened fire with a handgun. Bullets shattered windows in Stevenson's Lexus SUV, and more shots hit a BMW and Stevenson's house.

Stevenson's companions told deputies they ran into the home and didn't return fire. The women from the nightclub fled the scene. Investigators found blood on one of the cars and bullet casings in Stevenson's driveway.

About a half-hour later, Curtis Ruff, 31, drove up to a local hospital in an Escalade seeking treatment for gunshot wounds to his legs, sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons said. Ruff declined to cooperate, but Solomons said deputies believe he was shot at Stevenson's home.

Off topic:

Benji, how come you apologize for everything before fall 2005?

Yeah, pretty much anyone else would have been fine.

As was what you posted. It happens from time to time.

There are far too many people trolling the General Forums that never get banned, if you ask me. I see no reason to let obnoxious flame-happy posters ruin everyone else's civil conversation, and I've never been offered a moderator position, so I try to point out why the posters are ruining the discussion and see if anyone takes the hint.

The problem is, none of them ever get banned until the situation is well out control and at least one profanity-laced rant has been issued, so my comments have become more and more vitriolic the last few months out of spite.

And I post my fair share of non-critical comments - are you sure you're not thinking of Jackal?
