I'm not so sure...He always seemed like a troublemaker in the locker room, I don't know why. The Heat need more shooters..I was hoping they'll land Navarro.

And the Lakers are pretty dumb not to trade for Kidd when they had a chance. But what can I say? They are the Lakers.

I hate the Heat, so I like this signing. Smush isn't good.

The signing might be an indication that Gary Payton might be calling it a career, or at least leaning towards it. Smush isn't a star but he's a better option to back up J-Will than any other point guard currently on the Heat roster if The Glove hangs it up.

I think Smush is really good (check the new sig/ava)/ He will definitely compete for the starting job if he shows any sort of work ethic. When he was getting good minutes and was on his game in L.A. he showed he could be a dominating force on defense. If he doesn't win the starting job he will definitely be a great spark off the bench.

Yeah he is sooo good, especially vs Phoenix lmao.

He will be a back up to Williams. Helps Lakers more though, they finally can start Framar and he should be more help then Smush.

only way he competes for the starting job is if jwill breaks his leg or something. smush is not that good i dont see this as being a great move at all. if payton does retire then he will provide a good backup but dont expect a move like this to really change the heat much.

I'd take a washed up Payton over Smush anyday. At least Payton knows what to do when he's on the court.

I hope they keep Payton so he can mentor Smush, because Smush is only 26 years old so if he's put around a good group of people he could flourish into a good NBA pg. Also Payton was a defensive minded pg and that is how Smush is. They are both very aggressive. So if the Payton stays a year more I think Smush will have a greater future.

Wait, do you even watch Smush Parker play? The guy plays with almost no heart and I've also heard that he's a little too self confident for someone of his caliber. The only thing he can do is throw a few dunks and layups here and there and occasionally hit a three pointer. He can't do anything else, his playmaking blows.

I also think Payton retired or at least is contemplating it.

Well by no means am I saying that Parker is as good or will ever be as good as Gary Payton but Smush excels at getting steals and being an aggressive defender which leads to many fouls, which leads to sitting on the bench, which leads to his bad attitude. He's definitely not a passer either but he is a scorer at times, and when he's not too "self confident" he is a good defender. I agree though he does take bad shots and he's not a playmaker but when he was on the Lakers he was 10+ppg guy and about 2 steals a game. I'm just looking at this move as the Heat trying to develop Smush to his full potential so they can have 2 explosive players in their back ourt.

Even if he's just a back up,I think he can still show good moves that he has.I wish Gary the best in case he retires.

Wait... so you're saying that Parker is foul-prone, has attitude problems, a point guard who's not a passer or playmaker, and an unreliable scorer who's overly self-confident with poor shot selection and you're saying this is a good signing for the Heat?
The task of the artist is to translate for us the essence of things we take for granted.

I'm saying that if Smush Parker can get over his ego/self confidence problems he could be a productive player on the Heat. Pat Riley is also a very good coach that would be able to whip him into shape. Him playing along side D-Wade and potentially Payton would make him a much more consistent player because he would learn from one of the best in the game now and one of the best ever. I just think that Smush finally got his big break to show people that he's not just a problem child and that he can play good basketball.
