i think you are being a bit hard on him calling him a pet. you dont know what its like to grow up in a country like china where they pretty much own everyone. like i said before, this will only be bad for china's relations with the nba. teams will not want to take the risk incase this happens. hell i am amazed the bucks pulled the trigger anyway, yi himself was a big risk. the guy could be a complete bust anyway.

YES Sauru, i'm chinese, i was born in BEIJING hahaha the capital!! being a chinese myself, i'm ashamed of what they trying to do, I still don't know tho if Yi wanted all of this himself but like alot people said here, what ever the country says..GOES....

WangZHIZHI was banned from playing for 3 yrs?? after refuse to play for the national,

i've just read an article about yao regarding how he was LATE to join the national team. yao stated that he NOW UNDERSTANDS how wang zhizhi felt when he refused to play in the nationals!
linky http://nba.sports.tom.com/2007-07-19/0424/84722909.html (in chinese tho)

Yi, he knows...he have to do what ever the country tells him to do, why??? from all the examples above, there is no use!

i'm just sad n angry...i really do hope they punish what the gover tryin to do but not Yi.

What good is it if it's in chinese? Some people here can barely read english, let alone chinese. By the way is there a traditional version of it? I can't read simpified.

Oh, and children, please don't click on the link, there's pictures on the bottom of the page there that can be disturbing  . (It's more disturbing to your parents, well one of them)

I mean Commercial Developmet.. .Jesus Christ, That's fucking bullshit. . .Whatever happened to building championship caliber team? He should be in the NBA to win a championship not get Nike Commercials!! Yi's Career is gonna fall off with these people behind him. . cause they just want a piece of the cake

I hope he gets posterized the first game he plays in.... By Steve francis.

Not really to hurt Yi's confidence, but to send a message to their government that they pissed off a lot of people for nothing. Wouldnt be surprised if we didnt see a chinese basketball player drafted for the next 5 years. How's that for commercial development? Other international sports organizations and governing bodies should follow suit, in any sport that would apply. A Chinese Athletic Embargo, if you will. May be extreme, but this is an absolute disgrace.

Yeah, they dont care about what this kid wants to do with his basketball career, they just want the cash he might be able to make for them. I thought he already had a deal with Nike, which are also trying to get him to play. I dont see what the problem is though, cant stern just put alot of bucks games on espn and over seas airwaves for him to get exposure? Bucks vs cavs, bucks vs rockets, bucks vs spurs, bucks vs heat, there are plenty of games that can feature Yi and a superstar going against them. Im tired of always seeing the same 8 teams on prime time. Maybe this would help his exposure. Maybe Milwaukee can rename their city MilwaukYi. LOL Ok maybe not that but there are ways to get him out in the lights. I dont know why they think he has to be in a big city. If the bucks start winning alot, and Yi lives up to his potential, guess what? Alot of people will jump on the wagon and start riding. He will get enough playing time because other then Bogut and Villa he doesnt have anyone to compete against for the PF spot. The chinese people also NEED him to play to get that experience for the China team, they cant have him sit out. So they will eventually have to give up and let him play for the bucks, unless they would rather have him without any nba experience playing for china, and i doubt that.

@ young buck - Milwaukee is a LONG way, even with Yi, from being deserving of that kinda of national airtime. to put them on youd have to take one down, and theres only room for one mediocre team on primetime television, and last time i checked Kobe was ALOT better than Yi. Not saying milwaukee is a BAD team, but theyre barely treading water against the eastern conference elite (if there is such a thing) I dont want to see them get slaughtered by the spurs 2 times a month just so I can see Yi get owned by Francisco Elson...

Yi Confirmed that he wants to be traded, because he feels that he's gonna be a back up(well no shit, you're a roookie, whos gonna let you start if there is a proven guy starting), and there are too few chinese people living in Milwaukee.

Yeah lets see the bucks play against the spurs when Timmy isnt eating popcorn from the sidelines. The cavs were also 2-0 against the spurs, and we saw what happened to them... Team pride is admirable, but too much is foolish.

Youre missing the point, junior. The spurs slept through the entire regular season. The bucks arent even considered a blip on their radar. And even in that state, the bucks wouldve had to play pretty well to win. The spurs at 100 percent are outsight scary. Youd be best to recognize that and respect it. we can go player for player if you wish. It wouldnt be very pretty.

You are right, they had to be sleeping because there is no way the bucks could beat them, especially when the bucks had injuries to boykins, simmons, and villa. Anymore excuses you want to add in there? That still doesnt prove why the bucks shouldnt get more games on tv. If anything it proves why they should get more games, they beat the champs twice, although the spurs showed up in their jammys. They still won.

bobby simmons was overrated in LA. Boykins and Villanueva are duly noted. They beat the champs, twice. Amazing, I'll send them a cake just as soon as I can get to it. But this is also a team that went...

0-4 against Chicago,
0-4 against Cleveland
1-3 against Detroit
0-2 against Phoenix
0-2 against Dallas
0-2 against Utah
0-2 against Denver

And yes these are better teams in the league, but even more disturbing about this "Contender" of yours are these...

10-31 on the road. Yipes. But you didnt even have a winning Home Record either, 18-23.

0-4 against Indiana
1-3 against Toronto
1-3 against New York
1-3 against Orlando

Now all of those teams on the upper half, have wining road records, which is the sign of a good team. The bottom ones, Toronto is decent but the rest.... Come on, man. But I supposed simmons, boykins, and Charlie V were absent for those games too?

Maybe my standards of what should be on nationally televised are different then yours, but 28-54 just aint cutting it for me. Dont hype up two anomalies like they are supposed to mean something when taking what I've just shown you into account.

wonder if it's really Yi's opinion or if it's a continuation of the Chinese puppet show.
