The reason is simple: You can't find a better SG than Kobe or a better SF than LeBron in the League now. and when you can't name a better player than someone, the one shouldn't be called overrated.
I agree with you here ^. Kobe is a SG who shoots and scores, which is what an SG should do (as a cleveland fan, I'm used to seeing larry hughes go 1/30 a night with 5 points - so atleast I think a SG is supposed to make shots). Kobe isn't my favorite player because he's not really a team player, but he is a good player, 45% FG with 35ppg is an impressive stat (if they add another good player and kobe gets along with him then maybe he'll actually win games too, like he did with shaq). I can think of a few good SGs as Dwayne Wade (overrated???) being the only one I can slightly compare to kobe.
D-wade (overrated) is a very good SG, and he did win a ring with shaq just like kobe did, except kobe and shaq won like 3. But Dwade gets all the damn calls from the refs (same with shaq), dwade doesn't get called for a travel unless he gets on his moped and rides to the hoop.
LeBron is not overrated at all, he's a very good young talent and a team player. Not only that, look at the team around him and look where he is. This guy understands situations, and has led his team to where nobody saw possible, the nba finals. I don't think you can say he's overrated.
