Cavs Won't Play LeBron at Point to Start

I reckon it's a good move. (Y)

I think its a good move as well (Y) Gonna have to find time for Bron Bron other places though and take away from Darius and Ricky Davis, that could cause a problem.

I guess it's a good thing to start out with but I hope he'll move into the point position as his career goes along.

If I were Silas, I would still start LeBron at either shooting guard or small forward.

C: Ilgauskas
PF: Boozer
SF: James
SG: Davis
PG: Wagner

Is Lebron to big for the point guard position anyway. I mean point guards have to be small and fast and from what I've seen from Lebron, he not like that.

not exactly... the greatest pointguard in the history of NBA was 6'9'' - magic johnson, and lbj was pretty much compared to magic i think...

Not good... I'd like to see him play the point right away, though I think he'll move there as time passes...

C - Ilgauskas
PF - Boozer
SF - James
SG - Davis
PG - Wagner

C, PF and SG are pretty set... Where does Miles fit now? I'd rather have Miles at SF and James at PG...

IMO wagner is a sg in pg's body.. a la iverson...

the lineup needs a past first pg or else the players are going to start complaining about lack of shot opportunities. he's no household name but ollie fits the bill for starting pg

between miles, wagner, davis, james... two of them has to sit.

perhaps as the season goes by silas can ease james into the pg role

Good move. I look at LeBron as a younger Penny Hardaway and Penny played point guard in his early day but once he switched to the shooting guard position, he started "lighting up the scoreboard." Hopefully the same thing will happen to LeBron as time goes on.

Penny played a lot of shooting guard in his rookie season though. Once he was comfortable with Brian Hill's system and had some experience under his belt, he shifted to point guard (though the move to Phoenix sent him back to shooting guard).

PF-Carlos Boozer
SF-D-Miles
SG-King James
PG-D. Wagner

Its all good....especially when you have a Center who can run the floor oh babyyyyyyy

I think Davis will start ahead of Miles.

You're right but he also played a lot at point guard since Hill was trying to use him as a Magic Johnson type of player. It wasn't until the 97 Playoffs when Richie Adubato moved Penny to shooting guard spot and Penny went on to score 40+ points back to back. He averaged 31 ppg in five games against the Heat in the 97 Playoffs and people thought that he would challenge Jordan for the scoring title the following year. Unfortunately he got hurt and never really got back to his old self, though he did start in the 98 all star game.

Yeah....Ricky Davis is benched in favor of DARIUS MILES, and the only All-Star center in the east not named Mourning benched for a guy who still hasn't met his rookie year expectations...I don't think so. The only ones that I agree with are Wagner, Boozer, and James...I don't think the Cavs will play with a true point guard.

Davis, James, and Wagner will all share the duties of bringing the ball up, with a bit more pressure put on James and Wagner for distributing the ball. Since they have no true point on the team, then it'll be point by committee....odds are that James will be starting at the point come November.

i think its a bad idea to strat LBJ stragh away. I think they are just following the hype!
remmember what happended to kobe, KG, T-mac, J.O'neal!, espacialy Kobe. I kow one of the reasons he didnt get too much time is coz LAL already had a very deep backcourt but the coach at that time(cant remember his name) made him earn his respect from his team mates! Its also true that they dont have anyone else to fill in, but having D-mile and Ricky isnt so bad!

it was Del Harris...

actually Ricky is awsome but Darius is just poor...i rather let a rookie have a shot at it....then Miles...since i don't see him improving..

and i rather start the lineup like this

C-Ilgauskaus..he's an allstar...except injury he's the top center in the east
PF-Boozer..great rebounder great potential
SF-Lebron...i'd start him here cuz Kobe,AI,T-Mac won't embarras him since he's not guarding them
SG-Ricky..Tough job but sumone has to do it..guarding all stars ain't easy espesically in the east..
PG-Bremer...he did pretty well for a undrafted rookie so i'd give him the shot here...

well TD and KG play 2 diff possitions but they gurd each other! the question here is not who will embaras LBJ but rather he should earn is respect form his team mates with some hard work rather then big contract and TV!

KG played at SF last season if I'm not mistaken, I think he suits SF more anyways...although he does a FINE job of guarding Duncan! (Y)

Atleast I have some proof to back up my assumption that KG played at SF last season...

Timberwolves starting 5 in 2002:

KENDALL GILL G
TROY HUDSON G
KEVIN GARNETT F
GARY TRENT F
RASHO NESTEROVIC C

 you have one boxscore as your proof that KG played SF all last season?

this was the timberwolves starting 5 last season:
C R.Nesterovic
PF K.Garnett
SF W.Szczerbiak
SG A.Peeler
PG T.Hudson

A.Peeler started 39/82 games, K.Gill started 34/82

Anyways, I'll just say KG is suited both for the SF and the PF position, although I think of him more as a SF than a PF. I doubt I can make you change your opinion about what position he plays, and I doubt you can change mine so lets leave it at that and let the discussion continue. (Y)
