The problem is Billups would kill our cap space. I would love him, but at 12-13 million per year for 4-5 years is a tough call. He could have a similar impact like Nash did when he went to the Suns, but do you want Billups on the books as a 35 year old for 13 million?

Plus, if we get Billups we might not be able to afford to keep Bell and Ilyasova. That would cripple our depth on the bench. Realistically we would have this kind of line-up:

PG: Billups - Greer
SG: Redd - Noel - 2nd
SF: Simmons - Ilyasova - Noel
PF: CV - Wright - Ilyasova - Markota
C: Bogut - Gadz - Markota

That is a team that is greatly lacking depth, and any injury would be devastating.

Well its official Gerald Wallace opted out of his contract. Im really hoping he will sign with us. He is a defensive player that we greatly need, plus he can score. If we draft Conley then that would be good.

But then again Milwaukee doesnt seem like a place alot of players like to play. So we might not be able to sign Mopete, Billups, or Wallace.

I am seeing that some mocks have Jeff Green going to the bucks. Ive never seen him play, but the info on him seems to be he will be a good nba player, but doesnt have the potential to be anything more. He is NBA ready now. Eccentially the Bucks have the easiest pick in the draft next to #2. They should just select whoever is left out of brandon wright, brewer, conley, and harford.

Also some teams are trying to get into the top 10, i wonder if Milwaukee has thought about trading that pick for someone thats already established, that could come in and help right away.

The hottest rumor going around right now has them trying to move up to No. 6 in the draft by trading Devin Harris to Milwaukee. This came from Eastern Conference contacts, so take it for what it's worth. The guess here is that the Mavs would try to pry something out of the Bucks beyond No. 6, which would either be Mike Conley or Yi Jianlian, most likely. But the bottom line is they aren't looking to go crazy. When you have a 67-win team, even one that disappointed in the playoffs, it's prudent to think you're still going to be pretty good next season. Dallas Morning News

Wow, i dont know about this deal. Harris is good and all, but conley, wright, brewer, or horford could be better.

would be an interesting trade. personally i would see the trade as another one of those, cuban did it cause he always has to make some kind of move. if i am the bucks i keep the pick. harris is good and all but like you said, we have seen who he is and what he does, the player they get at 6 could do more. could also do less but i think its worth the risk.

If we trade 6 for Harris I will be so incredibly pissed off. I would much rather take Horford, Conley, Brewer or Green. I would even prefer to take my chances and pick Yi.

No way harris does this in my view, they already have better offers on the table from Portland and Atlanta, which are still shit but better than this crap.

i dont see anyway in hell horford falling to 6. conley and brewer would be the 2 i would hope for if i was you. if yi falls the bucks should just skip him. i think its shitty what yi is doing by picking and choosing where he will play but still, why pick a guy only to have him not even come to the nba, and then you are left with nothing.

I can't see Horford being there either. That is just a dream at this stage.

Conley is my personal pick, and I think the Bucks people in charge would have him as their top priority at this stage as well. Brewer is nice, but raises a few question marks and probably wouldn't start for a while.

If Yi is the BPA I think we have to take him. If we don't draft him on the grounds that he doesn't want to play in Milwaukee it will set a precedent for future draft picks and free agents. Basically if Nike wants to earn money on him, and Yi has said he is not going back to China but is only going to play in the NBA, he will have to play for the Bucks. We could possibly trade him on (rumour going around is #6 for #18 and Biedrins), but if he refuses to play we hold his bird rights and he can't play for another NBA team unless he stops playing at a professional level for 12 months.

So while there's great risk, I think if he is there at 6 and there are no favourable trades on the table we have to take him and stand true to the fact that international players don't have a choice where they end up. Otherwise the Bucks will never land international prospects or big free agents and will be stuck in cellar forever.

imo it's going to take at least 4yrs to pry away Billups from the Pistons. for someone of his caliber, i think it's worth the risk, despite his age. perhaps they can frontload his contract, similar to what the Bulls did with Wallace's contract.

Man, the Warriors should have traded up witht the Bobcats since they were taking offers for their picks. Warriors better deal Wright for Yi after losing Richardson. PLus Yi gets to be in a more Asian populated area.

Yi's handlers did everything they could to keep him away from Milwaukee. The Bucks were not permitted to attend any of Yi's workouts and GM Larry Harris did not travel to China to see Yi play in person. According to league sources, Yi's representatives will ask the Bucks to trade Yi on Friday.

Only HE can request a trade. HE is his own person. HE can stop this trade and play for the team that drafted him.

Who the fuck does he think he is? He played in a Chinese league last year and hasn't stepped onto an NBA court. He wasn't even the top prospect in the draft. I dont know what to think, it sounds like he is cool with playing for the bucks, but his reps dont want him there. I hope they dont demand a trade because thats bullshit. If he wants to play in the NBA, he needs to go to whoever picks him. If he didnt want to play for the bucks, dont enter the draft. He knew the draft order before declairing for the draft.

Hopefully he'll stick around in Milwaukee despite the wishes of the Chinese government. He should demand a trade after 2 or 3 years if he is still displeased with the city , but give it a chance. Also, Yi has said that he wants to play in the city of Milwaukee, therefore his reps shouldn't have a say in this. He should be the ones making the decisions (in this case, stay), and his representatives should spent less time blabbing about how to get Yi out of Milwaukee, but instead they should be doing publicity to draw more asians to Milwaukee and make Milwaukee the place for Yi.

He is a good player but we need a pass first PG, not a shooter. Brevin Knight was just cut, he could be a good pickup if we can get him for cheap. I heard Steve Francis might be bought out, would this make him a FA? if so maybe milwaukee could get him cheap? Sure he shoots alot but he also can create shots for others. Not when it's compared to 40,000 Asians in one district alone in San Francisco. There's maybe around 150,000-200,000 Asians total in SF so it wouldn't hurt if Yi was sent over to the Warriors. I know Mullin and Nelly are quite pleased with Wright, but I really hope a deal goes through for Yi because I'm still not satisfied after losing JRich.
