Yeah i missed alot of free throws but they jumped out to a 16-0 lead! I couldn't believe it, but I got stripped so many times trying to post up I started to get frustrated but i kept working. My biggest problem is Ricky Davis going 11/19 with all but 1 shot being on a dunk or layup but other than that it was pretty good %'s still high. Maybe someone will make a patch that evens out things for us who like to get in the post and bang.

Well the steals are really reduced so I don't see what is causing your turnovers BUT if you are getting doubled and dribbling while a man is hacking on you topside where you are not protecting the ball at all you should expect to get it stolen. Think about it all he has to do is extend his arm and he will be in the path of the dribble, you have to pass out and repost or pick up your dribble.

What do you guys think about muliplying FG and 3PT by 1.08 and Iiside Scoring by .90

This would alow a couple more jumpers and 3s to fall while making a couple of post ups miss.

Also I noticed most are combining for about 150 shots a game between teams when it should be around 170. Maybe quarters should be bumped to 9 MIN?

Yeah, that's a good idea. You should also lower Dunking a lot, cause prime time dunks are way too easy. I know it really doesn't matter in the end, layup, dunk, just it would be a little more realistic.

Steals could be lowered just a little, not much...

Primacy may need to be tweaked, John Stockton was lighting me up in the paint last game...so I just shut it off.

Do what you want, it's your patch, I'll test it.

This should make inside game more sloppy while allowing more outside jumpers to go in, now all dunks should not be automatic and PGs will not be looking to burn you at every corner.

EDIT - Made mistake while updating steals, now fixed (.90 instead of .75)

if u guys want a roster patch that will do the following;

1. cpu defenders get physical with you in the paint, front u, side u - like rodman used to do.
2. no easy layins or dunks - in yer grill D!
3. not too much freestyle b/s & ridiculous plays in traffic - except for the stars
4. guys bumpin you off the blocks - when u back guys in they will resist & push u out esp on jump hooks in the lane
5. hacking u as u drive in the lane - opposing paint players do not want to end up in yer poster baby.
6. collosal tussles on the boards - even guys getting injured and banged up - u will see the coach working overtime on subs as guys chew up the fouls
7. blown pressure layins & dunks - when there r 3 guys draped on the the guy trying to score, (human or cpu) the shot wont always go down - this removes the original ridiculous scoring skills of some players...however guys like kobe will still usually embaras u.
8. slow down run the clock - bang it down into the big fella - you gotta keep playin D in the post as the cpu pg's will be sedning it down to their big fellas on a regular basis
9. much less outside bombing - pg's, sg's will look to pass first
10. not too much run n gun - but u gotta get back & not slack off on D.
11. up to date 26/11/02 rosters & rotations - all teams starters r accurate & the bench is utilised as per real nba mins/gm

just like what you said...i changed it to all-star and more wise jump shot choices (90 to 76?)...and even though cleveland is not a good jump shooting team...they were draining every jump shot even with defender in front... and i was too... there were therefore less rebounds...i think fg%for both teams were too high...so i definitely think fg should be drastically lowered...and the cleves were running the court like crazy~!!!! and they were making every fastbreak... so the speed was the same as before...i want and i know many want it to be alot slower paced...[/quote]

This one is better, more jumpers fell, less gimmies inside, and a few laups and dunks muffed.

I still don't why Ricky Davis can get 10 dunks/layups, and Miles hit a 19 footer with a hand in his face, Miles can't hit a 19 footer when he's wide open. I think cleveland is too good on this, as the other guy had a problem with Cleveland too. Here is my offense I like to screen and roll, post up ALOT (which i get stripped quite a few times for) and post and kick out to the open man. That could be why I get high %s.

eddie jones lit me up for 33 pts(4/5 treys) shooting the heat back from a 58-40 deficit but i was able to hang on for the w.
steals and blocks are great now, shooting % is also ok.

I think that no matter what quick and agile guys like Davis who like to take it to the hole will beat the human because of their athleticism as a last resort I would try to let the CPU guard them.

Also when you post up you can't keep dribbling when doubled since you are not protecting the ball.

I'm just glad I could help some people enjoy this game.

New Update Out!

This updates the rosters of EVERY team and places the correct players on the IR as of 11/28/02 according to this site

Some signings were made and players like Hakeem and Mourning were retired. All players on IR in real life are now on IR in the game.

The only problem was Toronto because the had 17 guys on the roster including Hakeem, after I retired Hakeem I decided to not sign Montross since he is on IR and not playing any way all other teams should be spot on.

In the 5 games you've posted, you are 5-0, and have won by 12, 23, 13, 14 and 18.

I barely won my game that I posted here.

It's all about pulling away at the end by running the break when they start crashing the boards, it's usually in single digits untill the game breaks open late.

I was San Antonio and Detroit. The steals are high, but these were before DK released the new steal tweak, so maybe that will fix that problem. I just absolutely demolished Phoenix, nothing else I can say about that game. The second game was very close, back and forth with Dallas pulling away with their fast break. Now, I don't mind them running every play, cause they really do. Michael Finley hit for 50 Points, a lot off of the break. Dallas is hard to stop. Rebounds are always going to be a little lopsided, I don't see a way to fix it. Blocks are good. Fouls/Free Throws are a little uneven too.

Now, I have to try the new steals tweak to see if that lowers the steals dramatically.

I just downloaded the roster to check and the file is NOT corrupt.
It must have been your ISP or something.
