I'm not forgetting that Kobe, Odom, and Walton are part of the Lakers.

The pure and simple fact is, they cannot defend at all. They give up 103.4 per game, and score 103.3

Compare that to 102.9 opp ppg for the Suns who play at a much faster tempo, and it's clear that they're superior offensively and defensively. (plus matchups favor them immensely)

You guys have got to think about the double-double guess...I don't see how it can be anything less than 45 or so.

45 double-doubles in the finals?

My guess I think was like 21 or 22. I got the finals going to 6 games, Phoenix vs. Detroit. Nash should get a double double in 5 of those 6, Amare in maybe 4-5, Marion in 5, Sheed/Billups in maybe 3 and a couple wild cards in Tayshaun Prince, McDyess, Barbosa, etc. 45 seems far to high to me.

I had 26. Nash can be counted on for a double double each game, Stoudemire in probably 5, and Marion in 5 or 6 also.

I ended up with 26. Probably a bit too high though.

they have the same contest on facebook but the tiebreaker is double doubles in the entire playoffs.

i have Dallas winning it all over Cleveland. No way the Lakers beat the Suns. I had PHX in 6. plus, I had the Bulls over Miami. They're gonna have a really tough time repeating. I hope they do though... I wanna see Eddie Jones get a ring.

Aside from that, I think the Suns are a far better team, even excluding Amare. Are you actually convinced that Smush Parker is going to be able to guard Steve Nash? I'm not. Smush has been absoultely horrid on defense all year, as have the Lakers as a whole. They're one of the worst defensive teams in the entire NBA. Worse than the Suns even, given the fact that they don't play at nearly the tempo Phoenix does.

Nash is going to pick Smush apart, get into the lane, create for his teammates, and it 's going to be a very quick series.

Kwame is still a monster on the defensive end even with a bad ankle. I'm concerned about Smush though, but Farmar will be starting. Farmar is twice the defender Smush is. Sasha has had good success on Nash in the past. In stretches, they can even put Kobe on Nash.

I'm in there. Axel our brackets are pretty similar. Same finals, and same winner.

I'm in third. Doing pretty well if Utah wins tonight. I will have predicted all the winners but Golden State.

wooo! The Utah pick worked out great... only one I missed was those damn Warriors. Indy, your bracket is exactly the same as mine - the only difference is our champion. I had to pick my team to go the distance

Mon May 07, 2007 9:53 am

I had the Jazz going to the conference finals for awhile, but then I changed it to Dallas. I wish I had kept the Jazz there now.
