Hope it won't cause a bigger trouble for Aldrige. :|

I stand corrected. I too hope it won't prove to be a major problem for Aldridge.

See, now it's just getting silly. We can't be too far away from a scrub registering "DNP - Crap".

Tummy ache? Darn, that's just hilarious...in my silly opinion.

I don't know, maybe it comes from laziness or something. Like, extreme laziness. Or maybe it's just some massive practical joke that starts off really subtle.

Tue Apr 17, 2007 4:56 pm

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with silly humour per se. It's just something you don't expect to see randomly in the middle of serious sports coverage, particularly stats and boxscores.

Meh, I can't say anything. They're still covering the game properly.

Tue Apr 17, 2007 7:13 pm

Yeah some player is probably paying them off
The 'Tummy Ache' One is the best so far

I guess they thought noone would notice it if they added small inclusions.

i probably wouldn't off, i use NBA.com for all my Boxscore's etc...

I wouldn't really consider it covering the game properly to take jabs at players in the boxscores. Anyway, I'm not bothered by it and I'm not inclined to complain to Yahoo! Sports about it but I do think it's a joke that is likely to get run into the ground very quickly.

By the covering the game properly, at least the scores and stats are in order. I don't really care about DNP notes, but it's rather subtle stuff.

I suppose. I still think the joke is likely to wear thin fairly soon but it's no big deal. I have to admit I'm interested to see how far they'll take it or whether it will garner any widespread attention outside basketball forums.

Hey, according to all of the links, the funny stuff has been removed.

Fri Apr 20, 2007 12:33 pm

So it has. Robert Horry's absence was put down to being listed as inactive and Brent Barry is cited as missing the game due to illness; I guess the joke wasn't being carried out with the authority of the site administration.

I wonder which player has the most probability of getting that one.

Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:26 pm

Probably someone from the Spurs or Warriors given the previous players targeted.

Maybe the prankster is a Dallas fan.
