It's been hinted at pretty much all season so it doesn't come as a surprise. It's a shame the final year of his tenure wasn't a more successful one but I think the fact the Grizzlies had their finest seasons under his watch shows that that he's still got an eye for talent and the ability to assemble the personnel that will allow a team to go out and compete. Unfortunately his hands were tied by moves made by earlier executives, particularly the deal that saw the Pistons get the #2 pick in 2003.

Well landing Oden in the draft can be his farewell to the sport... And that isn't a bad farewell song from West to the franchise...

He's been around practically all his life...

Jerry West to the Knicks?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2841469

Zeke would never go for it, but West is the kind of smart basketball person this franchise desperately needs. Isiah can't make a smart basketball decision to save his life. He's done more for the Bulls than the Knicks.

Hopefully, he'll go to the Sonics.

I'm sure you've seen this already but Isiah has apparently been pretty quick to shoot it down already.

Thomas said he had no interest in bringing in another "basketball mind" such as free agent Jerry West. Thomas said he needs "a basketball player."

God I'm so sick of hearing this. Its like nobody notices that Eddy Curry had an all-star caliber year this season. The Knicks aren't a finished product, but give credit where credit is due. David Lee got booed when Isiah drafted him, and he's been great. Renaldo Balkman definitley showed signs of being a very good player. That was another criticised pick. Sure he made some bad moves, but Isiah has made plenty of good ones too.

Anyways, sorry for going off topic. I'd like to see Jerry West combine to make a GM 3-headed monster of Donnie Walsh, Larry Bird and The Logo. With those three minds working together something great would be bound to happen.

Thomas can only draft, he's horrible at everything else. His trades are just plain bad.

Thank you. Isiah's a disaster, just like the owner.

Because I (Dolan) made a commitment to Isiah," Dolan told the station. "And I made a commitment that the whole team feels, and a commitment to a strategy. And when you make a commitment, a commitment's a commitment."

In other words, the Knicks are still screwed.
Thomas said he believes the Knicks are the best 33-49 team ever assembled.

Thomas said he needs "a basketball player.

Another high-priced basketball player, a guard preferably?

I can't believe Dolan is believing the shite that comes out of Thomas' mouth.
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

That's why it's so hard being a Knicks fan. With idiots like Dolan & Zeke in charge, the Knicks aren't going anywhere. Our front office is a laughingstock, man. We've been going downhill since Cablevision & the Dolans took over.

People talk about Curry's improvement - he's still a joke on defense, and he wasn't worth what NY had to give up. WTF was Isiah thinking not protecting the picks? All he's done is make the Bulls better.

Even when healthy, Knicks are a sub-.500 team - a team with the highest payroll in NBA history. You are what you are - Dolan & Isiah are selling the fans chicken sh!t packaged as chicken soup. I'm not buying it.

The Curry trade was probably his best move...and if that turns out to be a bad for NY (based on how high that pick is worth) the rest of his moves are disasters. I'm sure NY fans are loving they have Q-Rich all theirs til 2010.
