If they made the ECW show resemble the old ECW shows at all, wouldn't that be a step in the right direction? I don't know what they're going for with that show, but there's nothing extreme about it.

I noticed that the only ECW Original who won the title is Rob Van Dam. I feel that this brand extension of the WWE will be dissolved in time.

As long as Vince is making money, the split will stay.

I didn't think about Edge's undefeated streak - they haven't really been hyping that too much but it could certainly play out that way. I was just thinking that the rift between Edge and Orton would play out there, but maybe he'll spear Randy in the middle of an RKO or something crazy like that and grab the briefcase. It seems like Kennedy was getting a huge push two months ago, but it's cooled off considerably since then, so I really have no idea.

Edge's streak comes up every now and then, he's been mentioning it more the last couple of years as well which is why I think they're going to keep it going. To that end it's probably a mistake putting him in the match because it will be at the expense of pushing other wrestlers but they'll find a way of doing that when the time comes.

It would help immensely but it seems they're just not too keen on the idea. I think to a certain texent their hands are tied by the fact they're on the Sci Fi network which is why the matches have been as bloody or extreme as the original ECW (or even some matches shown on RAW and Smackdown for that matter). If they are planning on axing the originals and pushing the New Breed, the ECW brand will probably end sooner rather than later because it won't be a succees in the ratings or a financial draw.

Even with a botched promo, he still makes it entertaining.

T&A is good and all but when you have a women's division, you should at least have girls that can actually wrestle. Right now, it's only Trish, Mickie, Victoria and Melina that can actually wrestle. The other girls are just models.

Not quite on the subject of Wrestlemania (whowillwin???, I've posted my predictions on the previous page as well in a column I co-wrote with Matthew) but I thought this was interesting:

To whom it may concern:
I would love to tell you what the WWE did to my girlfriend and I at RAW this past Monday the March 26th 2007 from Chicago.
This might be a little long but it is worth the read to see how the WWE treats it’s “Fans”!!!

I haven’t missed a show in Chicago since I don’t know when. Anyway the past few times we have been sitting Front Row Ringside. Not cheap tickets whatsoever. They were around $400 a piece the last few times.
Well, lets cut to the chase here. We were sitting right next to the ramp and directly in front of the stairs going up to the ring. Perfect Seats… Almost the same exact ones we had at the last RAW on Oct 23rd 2006 except those were better because we were on TV the whole show since we were dead center first row ringside. The camera loved us that night… The same Shirts were worn on that RAW as this one – n W o Black and White T-Shirts.

As usual WWE records Heat first before RAW as everyone knows. Before it even started a cameraman came up to us and said that someone would be out shortly to give us some T-Shirts to wear over the ones we had on. Right away we knew this was going to be some B.S.

A short while later another person with a headset on came over saying the same thing and offered us 2 shirts to put on over the ones we wore. I refused saying (Very Politely) ” No thanks, we were fine.” He left and then after a short while another person came up to us explaining to us that the n W o was not a part of this show. NO KIDDING MORON!!!

He went on about how this was Vince McMahon’s show and that he and the producer(s) did not want us wearing/showing the shirts we had on.
We as well as everyone around us could not believe it! We were all stunned how they were acting and it just got worse.

After coming from the restroom and HEAT just about to start, they didn’t even wait until we got to our seats. They pulled us to the other side of the ring and started trying to bully us about the whole issue. One of the WWE security guards kept trying to get us to change/put shirts over ours. I know we were in the right. We paid for these tickets BIG TIME. Especially since they were $70 face value. Come on give us a break here.
They told us NUMEROUS times that they would “Kick Us Out if we didn’t cover up the n W o shirts up. I am Pissed by now and tell this WWE security guard that I want something for our trouble. He agrees and asks what he can do. I said I wanted tickets to the next show in Chicago. He said he could do that. So then I said I wanted Front Row tickets. He said he didn’t know if he could do that but he would do the best he could do if we covered up our shirts. We finally agreed after WWE security called Arena security and they were all about to take us off to the Federal Pen for what seemed like we commited Murder.

The security guard said he would come back over to me during / before the show was over to give me his information/card so we could exchange info so he could help me out on the future tickets.

Well, I am sure you know what happened. Yup, he never came our way again. We waited to the last 2 minutes of the show to show our n W o / American Pride and he went crazy but he couldn’t do anything as well as the arena security. Even though they were nicer than the WWE. I pulled out my 3’ X 5’ n W o Flag and showed it Proudly until they ripped it out of my hands. LOL LOL… I won’t lie. I loved the look on his face when I basically told him the “deal” was off by crotch chopping the WWE security guard and giving him the thumb to across my neck.

Now, the question is why be total ASSES to us this time and not say one word to us the time before when we were ALL OVER the TitonTron and USA Network??? Oh by the way the n W o flag and shirts were out in force at the other show also. Not one word from the WWE that night.
What a complete joke the whole night was. If they didn’t like our shirts then why was the n W o shown in numerous videos on the TitonTron and TV during promos etc. Total JOKE! Thanks for making the night TERRIBLE for us. I feel like never going or even watching the WWE again. Although I know I will and already have.

Oh and guess where I got the shirts. YES. WWE SHOP a few years ago.
How much money did the n W o make you VINCE??? A LOT!!! That’s how much!!!

Uncool to say the least.

Well....I'd say they have a right to do it, especially if someone was wearing a TNA shirt and waving a sign involving Kurt Angle or something like that. They should be able to control what gets shown on their TV shows if it might result in some kind of copyright infringement.

That's a little different though, TNA is a rival promotion whereas the WWE holds the copyright for the nWo. While its heydey was in WCW it's also become a part of WWE history through the combined video libraries and their brief WWE run in 2002. At worst its referencing a defunct promotion. Admittedly the account isn't unbiased but it sounds like they were treated rather poorly, I'd be unhappy if I were in their situation too.

Ah - I forgot they had the copyright. That is a little strange then, except maybe that most of the nWo members are no longer with the company and some are signed with other promotions.

Since my logic didn't work out so well - I'll shift to humor. Who passes up a free t-shirt?

That's probably their line of thinking, considering their relationship with Hogan soured over the Hall of Fame incident and Nash is in TNA. Still, it's a huge fuss to make over two people wearing a t-shirt referencing an old angle. You've just brought up a good point though; why not accept the free t-shirts and go ahead with the protest anyway?

Yeah, not cool at all. It's just a shirt... and you made a point that WWE owns the rights of the nWo. Hulk Hogan wore that nWo shirt (years ago) at RAW.

It's Wrestlemania tomorrow, and sadly I can't watch it on cinema. I don't have the money.

www.wrestlingobserver.com claims that the MITB match will open the show, and someone on the Rajah forums noted that the chance of the winner using his title shot at the end of the show has gone up rapidly. It would be wild to perhaps see Cena defend against Edge and retain, unlike NYR 06. Or maybe insert himself into the Cena-HBK match. Probably won't happen, but it's still fun to think about.

I'm five-for-five on predictions. I was thinking they wouldn't job the ECW Originals to a bunch of guys that most people have never heard of and risk losing RVD down the line.

The placement of Taker-Batista in the card seems a little ridiculous though, they've got about two hours left for three matches, one of which is Melina vs. Ashley, so there must be something going on, possibly involving Mr. Kennedy.
