Kobe 4 straight 50 point games: 65, 50, 60, and 50

Obviously I'm going to be the Kobe hater here, but come on... Memphis? I mean, this team rivals last year's Sonics team for defensive futility. It's not like these have been good teams he's played against. I guarantee that if the Lakers played a semi-decent team like Dallas, San Antonio, or Detroit, they would force someone else to beat them.

I hope it's not just me, but I've found myself watching the TEAM oriented teams far more lately. I absolutely love watching the Suns, Raptors, and Jazz, because they play so well together. The one man shows really don't appeal to me that much, and I've even found myself watching less of my long time favorite team, Miami. That probably has a lot to do with why I dislike watching LA and Kobe so much.

But the Grizzlies doubled Kobe everytime he touched the ball and even doubled him off the ball from the beginning of the game. He was just hot. You got to admit that.

Shammond Williams looked really strong tonight.

He's one of my favorite players. Hopefully he sticks around in the for a while instead of bouncing on and off teams...Kobe's doing well. (Y)

65.
50.
60.

Idc who it was against. If Kobe didn't play well the Lakers werent going to win. He did play well and they won all 3 games. They lost the 7 games before it.

Theres no legitimate criticism for his play the last 3 games.

Kobe's scored 27 against the Hornets as of halftime. It would seem he's headed for four straight.

Kobe's got 44, Lakers up 12. But not big enough to sit him in the 4th.

This may sound selfish to some of you, but when a guy is this close, the coach should just let him play.

EDIT: 46 and a 7 point lead, gotta let him play.

47...

Where's that guy that says anyone can score 50 on 35 shots now? Kobe scored 50 on 29 shots!

Not to downplay the accomplishment, but in all fairness there's also more than a couple of things that Michael Jordan did that Kobe Bryant has yet to do.

I'm wondering, what is the most consecutive 50 point games someone(Wilt) has ever registered? And when was the last time a player scored 50 on back to back road games?

THe record is 7 straight, set by Wilt. Unless Kobe purposely takes every shot until he gets fifty in the next four games, the record won't be broken. I think that it will end next game.

this reminds me of the time he scored 40+ pnts 9 straight games a few seasons back. Absolutely awesome performance, and done in the context of the game.

Crazy thing is, he could've gotten even more if he wasn't so passive in the 4th quarter.

Bryant acknowledged that his scoring streak was spurred by the national debate over whether he was a dirty player after he was suspended twice for elbowing opponents in the face. "For me, that was insulting. To have people talking about something else is a much better thing."

...so he just decided to put this performance up? Impressive.

I definitely don't like the guy.. But i think he is the best player in the league today.. Either in a one on one.. Nobody in the league can beat him.. Yes!! Even Tim Duncan!! Kobe makes the most difficult shots.. And can be depended upon on crunch time.. I think he'll be in the league for more than 15 years or so.. If he doesn't undergo a major surgery.. But Kobe is actually durable.. What the hell... I'm starting to like this guy..

I am not a Kobe fan either but you have to say he is the best player when it comes to scoring. Doesnt matter from which spot on the court he can make them all. Often his shots look desperate but when they hit nothin but net the only one looking desperate is the defender who got shot in his face and tried to do everything to prevent him from scoring.

You cant compare Kobe to anyone else. You cant compare him to Duncan just because of the different positions.
But he is definitely the best pure scorer und the guard position in the league and he can also defend above average and just do everything else better than others.

It is incredible .. I aint no fan boy .. there were times I hated Kobe and I also think he has no chance to be the MVP (its all about Dirk or Nash), but Kobe is rocking the league.

there was a lot of time left when he got the 50, so I guess he just focused on winning the game.
