I think the warriors will take them down.
But seriously, kudos to the people who saw that coming.

The Warriors cant win the title when a team as Godly as the Blazers can thrash their ass.

Don Nelson knows the Mavs better than any other coach in the NBA. The Mavs are 0-4 against the Warriors in their last games so it would be interesting to see the Mavs facing the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
@beau_boy - The Mavs did try, but what's the point leaving your stars on the floor when the game's already over after the third quarter.
I'm looking forward to the Suns match and hopefully they'll kick their asses too!

It's been like this for years with Golden State... The team is way better on paper than they actually are. Right now, they have a respectable starting five and also some quality coming off the bench. They just haven't clicked. But this time everything clicked and Dallas didn't stand a chance.
I think Suns will take their scapls as well and then we can forget that whole "winning 70 games sheit" that's been going around.
Nowitzki played only 30 minutes, cause he didn't hit anything... Same for Josh... Mavs got owned... And who better to coach a team to beat the Mavs, than the guy who coached the guys for years and basically taught the Lil' General everything he knows about coaching.
If GSW plays Mavs in the first round of the play-offs... Well, that would be intresting... Forget about Suns or Spurs or Rockets as the Mavs main opponents... Warriors have their number.

Poppovich?
not the 1st time GSW beat Dallas this season.

Since when did Poppovich coach anyone else except the Spurs???? We're all talking about Nelson here.

Probably means Avery used to play for the Spurs..
Tue Mar 13, 2007 10:58 pm
exactly.....because Avery sure as hell didnt learn defence from Nelson.

Ahhhh - the old "ruthless tribe of savages" NBA analogy.

I said it somewhere back there.
I've been on the Warriors bandwagon all season. They have a lot of talent, but Baron has to be in the lineup for them to click. It was evident just two games ago when they were crushed by the Blazers. He's their Steve Nash. The rest of the talent around him is great, but they need a facilitator. J-Rich has been out most of the season. Baron has been in and out, along with others here and there. If they're healthy, they're going to make the playoffs.
I predicted them to win because they're now 23 and 10 at home. Unfortunately they're still a young team, which has attributed to their 7 and 26 road record... still, I think with Baron back in the lineup, they'll be set to knock out the Clippers and a few other mediocre teams.

So much for the safe pick. I'll still pick them to win tomorrow though.

Now we wait to see who breaks the home streak. Phoenix?

We didnt have an official Mavericks thread, and i also wasnt sure how many Dallas devotees there are here. This seems as good as any.
Thu Mar 15, 2007 1:48 pm
Fuckin in hell. I turned the game off when the Mavs were up 6 with free throws coming with only 50 seconds to go. How the heck did the Suns come back?
ARGH! How did I miss it!!
At least I have OT to watch!
Thu Mar 15, 2007 1:51 pm
Mavs are my favorite Western Conference team, largely because they have Larry Bird's long-lost German son. Liked them more when Finley was around.

Greatest. Game. EVAH!
Not really but this is pretty wild and entertaining

Best game since Clippers-Suns. Great game, too bad that it didn't go Triple-OT. Dirk is garbage in the clutch. Hence why I fear for them in the Playoffs. Still a great game between great teams. Nash bouncing the ball of Terry's shin

And they say he is garbage defensively.
Thu Mar 15, 2007 3:59 pm
Wow. that was freaking crazy. Too bad i only recorded it, and the recording didnt reach far enough into the second overtime. But that was a brilliant game.
Erick Dampier 11 OFFENSIVE BOARDS. No defensive.

I remembered writing that when there was around a minute left in the game. I figured I'd be quoting it and making a lame crack about the Return of the Jinx when Nash exploded. What followed easily made the game one of the best I've seen all year. I was disappointed when Nowitzki's final shot in the second overtime bounced off the back of the rim, I didn't want it to end so soon. I was hoping we'd see some new records set by the time it was all over.

Erick Dampier 0 Defensive boards... No defense... Amare 16-19, no defense!
Who needs defense when Amare goes 16-19 in a game??? Well, I guess the game was pretty tight and had some miraculous finishes. Nash putting the game to OT with a three in the end of fourth was as spectacular as it was when Terry hit a similar shot to send it to second OT. Too bad there is no way to see games live here in Finland. And if we did, we would get some lame Sixers-Celtics game anyway...
Don't go knocking on Steve Nash's sense of urgency and wits on the defensive end. That knocking the ball out of Terry's leg was brilliant and really what saved the day. And since the MVP race is all about Nowitzki and Nash, neither of them play great defense...

The play was great, but even better was the charge he took in the 1st overtime (i believe). Marion got the rebound, passed it to Nash in traffic and he lost the ball. He went to the floor to get it, then got back up and instatantaneously took the charge. If you've watched the Suns, he takes a TON of charges.. one of the top guys in the league.

Still haven't had the chance to look at the game...I wonder, was the game better than Nets-Suns 161-157 game?

Great game, I'm glad I haven't missed this season's Dallas vs. Phoenix games

I wanted the Mavs to win, but the Suns played well.
