I read that on St. Patrick's Day Carlos Boozer is playing his first game with the Cavs since he left for the Jazz in 2004.Looking forward to that

Hopefully Shaun Livingston can come back in time for the playoffs. For those who don;t know, he dislocated his patella today in a very frightening looking injury against the Bobcats. He stayed incredibly calm through the whole thing and I wish him the best of luck in his recovery

back problems, knee problems....the superstar that never was
Tue Feb 27, 2007 8:58 pm
That injury was very scary looking. Just hope that he can recover well and continue to develop, he was supposed to be a very decent player when primed.
And in other news includes a Darko stat line of 14points, 16rebounds and 5 blocks.
His blocks had been missed for quite some time.
Caught the Lakers-Jazz game and Kobe had a Wade-like performance with 21 points from the line and 7-21 from the field. The refs have to find some other things to do when Wade goes down. Okur lost his touch and airballed a three in the winding minutes.
Oh, and Shaq scored his 25K. Though being outscored and outrebounded by Curry he really is playing better basketball than many thought he would after coming back from another injury.
EDIT: Just noticed that Josh Howard sprained his ankle today, and if serious that will really hurt the Mavs. One quantitive question: how many ankles do the NBA need to sprain this season?
Wed Feb 28, 2007 2:10 am
Ouch. That's one of the worst injuries I've seen.

Al Jefferson is really carrying the Celts as of the last few games. Once again dominates in the post.

Magic might end the Mav's streak today.
Mon Mar 05, 2007 7:23 pm
But they didn't. Another Mavs comeback, that's like ten this season.

Boki Nachbar with an awesome dunk this night. I love it when "shooters" like him serve up facials.
Tue Mar 06, 2007 12:39 am
he's served up quite a few nice dunks this season.

How about them Sixers? 7-game winning streak

Hopefully they'll keep playing like this.

Only one team in the Eastern Conference on a winning streak at the moment.
The surging 26-43 Charlotte Bobcats who have won all of 2 games in a row.

With all the hype sorrounding Kobe's amzing streak of 50 point games (thats actually an under statement, he has had totals of 65 and 60 in 2 of the 4 games), I decided to check out his ESPN.com player profile.
While going over his stats I was shocked by one particular statistic:
177 blocks over 36 games against Western Conference opponents this season. That's around 4.92, so say 5 blocks per game.
5 blocks per game against Western Conference oppenents by a 6-6 perimeter oriented shooting guard.
Anyone else as shocked as I am by this statistic? Maybe a mistake by ESPN somewhere along the line?

Kobe probably doesnt have 100 blocks total on the season.
anyways, Lamarcus Aldridge has been getting 18 & 8 in his last 5, with an additional 2bpg.

Kobe only has 26 blocks this year - that's a pretty wild misprint by ESPN.

Nice shot by Rasheed, I wonder how much they practice those just in case?
Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:58 pm
Amazing shot.
When I went to a Pistons game last year Rasheed, Delfino, and Dale Davis practice half court shots for five or ten minutes during warm ups.
Tue Mar 27, 2007 11:56 pm
It actually makes sense to practice them, why not since usually there's one per game anyway. This time it really paid off.

Rasheed also practices 3's one handed, and ive seen a few bank in this season.

Definitley, my AAU coach had a couple nice secrets about shooting from half court or further, and I can hit 3 or 4 out of 10 pretty consistently.

same, i used to practice half court shots and i could hit them pretty constistently. Never really got the chance in a game, but when playing "around the world" i needed to score on my 1st shot for a perfect game. I banked it!

Btw, Vince's game tying save-dunk was amazing as well a couple of night back... not as great as Dwight's alley though imo

Yeah the main thing you have to do is bank it. From that far away you won't get any sort of shooters roll if you don't swish it. The glass is the best way to have a chance.
