Boykins is only effective when he's scoring (efficiently) otherwise he gets abused on D, shoots too much, overdribbles the ball.

Yeah, well Steve Blake can't even do that.

I think he might be on par with Reece Gaines.

Well, I like the trade for Milwaukee, well and Denver had to do something because of the luxury tax. But, for those who complain that they should have waited till Melo returns: Te trade had to be done due to the injury exception the Bucks have. Don't know very much about this rule but it makes sense.

I agree with the general sentiment in this thread. For Denver it helps out as far as the luxury tax is concerned and it's also getting rid of a player who takes 12 shots a game, no doubt preparing for the iminent pairing of Melo and AI. Meanwhile, Milwaukee was able to add some more depth in the backcourt while giving up an expendable player. It makes sense for both teams, though as far as the talent involved the Bucks got the better end of the swap.

Steve Blake has converted me

He played great today, I didn't check the box score but he looked very comfortable and played really well alongside AI. His shot was working, he was rebounding, playing defence and just showed off his basketball IQ. He wasn't looking to shoot it, but when he had to, he almost always buried it. Trade doesn't look bad after one game, except that Julius is gone :(

From my friends over at Realgm who actually watched the game, as Bucks fans they were really surprised how much effort he gave. They claim they have never seen him play like that all year, that he finally looked like he was trying. If he was dogging the season cause he didn't want to be on the Bucks then he is a right tool, and I hope he has a nice season ending injury in his future. What a dick!

One of my friends' dad is a NBA ref, and he ended up referee'ing the first game Boykins played as a Buck. He had asked Boykins was he happy about the trade and he said "Hell yea, with Carmelo and Iverson, I wasn't going to hardly get any shots."

Man Blake is playing unbelivable at the moment, he's tied his Career high 23 points mid way through the 3rd quater.
I am also converted

We will soon see but hes looking pretty good so far.

This is the most impressive ive seen Denver shoot from behind the arc

9 from 16 for the whole team is quite good to say we have shitty 3 point shooters.

is this a surprise? Blake played pretty damn well for Portland.....not surprisingly he didnt fit in with Milwaukee, no one does.

Soon, people will see that Denver got the better end of the deal. What does Milwaukee need with Boykins anyway? They already have Maurice to chuck up bad shots. Basically, when everyone is healthy they'll have no playmakers and guys that need the ball to be effective...go the Bucks!!!!

Maybe he was playing shit to force a trade? Maybe he is a top 5 point guard? Maybe he is a MVP candidate?

 Steve Blake is awesome

There was nothing more frustrating as a Denver fan when the Squirrell threw up 20 shots and made 6 of them or pounds the ball for 20 seconds then pass to someone who was in a bad position to shoot. Dont get me started on his invisible defense. Bucks fans will soon get frustrated.

Well Blake finishes with 25/3/4 and adds 3 steals on 9-13 shooting. However, he may be headed to Cleveland

Nooooooooooo!

Well, if he starts playing like shit we should consider trading him, but so far he's doing quite well so we should keep him for right now.

He's been garbage all year and really, looking at his shooting percentages he wasn't much better before either. Hopefully he'll fall apart with Denver, he's a wanker.

Well he's showing positive signs at the Nuggets, and no matter if he starts playing like shit, its still better than Boykins.
