Gasol leaves Memphis, AI leaves Philly, Maggete leaves LA, Toronto gets 2 really good swingmen that they really need, LAC stocks up on some young guys with potential, Philly gets 2 expiring contracts, & Memphis turns their whole franchise around with some excellent scorers, all you need to is add soem draft picks to make it more even. If only Billy King or someone else sees this then maybe something will happen earlier.

this trade comes from the mind of a fucking moron

Philly gets no young players, and instead gets Gasol, who will do the square root of sweet fuck all to this team (already loaded with bad contracts with the forward spots... why add 2 more?)

Clippers get just as much as Philly out of the deal

Memphis will go fucking nowhere with Iverson - why even bother trading for him?

Toronto gets away with robbery - you wouldnt happen to be a toronto fan would you?

Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:24 am

 Actually I am a Toronto fan.

Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:27 pm

Memphis is already out of the running for getting AI, mainly because of the ownership problem that they are having.

"I'm begining to think there will be no forced-mating at all" - Prof. Farndsworth.

But seriously, is there a possibility they bring him back into the lineup during trade talks for another week or so then everything calms down? Or is this 'happening'.

Mon Dec 18, 2006 4:20 pm

yeah, when i saw at heat forum players who could be in that trade i was saying WTF! young haslem, wright, stabil guard posey and not pretty good jwill and 2 first round dp for oneselfishe iverson, and 3 stupid playas! if that trade goes, i'd officially be a riley hater!

Mon Dec 18, 2006 9:59 pm

You mean you'll bandwagon another team?

I don't think AI is going to get traded anytime soon. His contract is huge and he's getting old. They also have to know within a month he's going to act like a baby and fight with the head coach.

don't tell me it's some guy who posts at realgm who says his coworker's cousin knows works a 2nd a job with someone who has some journalist guy friend ;)

there's a few of those at the bulls forum. for the past few years- we've been told the bulls were definitely going to trade for paul pierce, al harrington, and even drew gooden

Just heard on ESPN AI is going to Denver for Joe Smith, Andre Miller and 2 1st round picks...thoughts anybody?

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:08 am

^It sucks. I can't stand Denver and my Sixers only get crap in return...

Bullshit, that they accepted that deal. It's not too bad for them though, the Nuggets are going to be a championship contender and I now have them locked in to making the Western Conference Finals. Their team is too complete. Then, you have J.R. Smith who is an up and coming potential all-star player with guys like Camby and Nene added in along with Najera and Boykins. But, the Sixers finally get a true PG in Andre Miller.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:09 am

Denver it is.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:11 am

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2702501 --> but they only agreed in principle

If this really goes through, Philly got owned. I think they could have gotten way better deals. For Denver, well... giving up pretty much nothing and getting a leading scorer in return is good. But with Melo, J.R. and AI there the chemistry should be fucked up especially if K-Mart returns from injury.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:15 am

why would the chemistry be fucked up? are there instances of them fighting with other players to be the "leader?" even after the brawl i think carmelo's going to be able to keep his cool in order to help his team in whatever it takes and i think the same is true with iverson now he's out of philly

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:16 am

oh no, denver is turning into Real Madrid

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:19 am

Damn now the West side stole another one of east talented players...basterds
wouldve liked to see him with Heat, but in te Nuggets he'll do good.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:22 am

Now Melo just needs to accept that he's no longer the best scorer on the team and let AI take over the leadership and everything will be fine.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:23 am

Denver should be fun to play with in NBA Live now.

Yeah, real complete. Minus the horrible defense, lack of perimeter shooting (no, Iverson has never been a great 3pt shooter), maturity, and soon to be team chemistry. Write it down, Denver won't make it past the conference semis without Andre Miller. He's the unsung hero of that team and by far one of the league's most underrated PGs - the guy is never injured! He's only missed 3 games in 8 seasons.

I still rank Denver below San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston (if healthy), Utah, New Orleans (once Peja and David West return) and probably the Lakers as well. 7th or 8th seed at best, and with Carmelo suspended for 15 games, they might not even make the playoffs.

Edit: Just saw JR smith not included (someone said he was). Still I don't think they are good enough to make it past the semi finals.

So, you're completely forgetting about Earl Boykins. Boykins is just as solid as Miller and I wouldn't mind seeing him start at the PG position and put AI at SG and Melo at SF with J.R. coming off the bench. He is averaging 11ppg and 4apg in 24 minutes and with his minutes boosted up to around 35 (what Miller was averaging), that can easily get up to around 13 and 7.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:41 am

Again though, do you honestly think Early Boykins can defend? There's a reason why he is a bench player. He's too small. He can get steals, but I think if he were put in a starters role, he would lose some of the effectiveness he has as a second unit player. As well, Boykins is a complete ball hog and I dont think he's capable of running the offense in the half court. I couldn't imagine Boykins, Iverson and Carmelo all starting together.

IVERSON TRADED TO NUGGETS

could either go really good or really bad

Agree completely on Boykins, but I do see Denver as a major threat in the West now; once all the suspensions are over.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:52 am

Wow... thats a suprising deal...

just can't imagine AI in the Nuggets Blue, same with Miller in the colors of Philly
