Obviously Dwight Howard, injuries have killed any chances of Okafor. He might become one of the more dominant bigmen, but defenetely not more than Dwight. Dwight is already better, even though hes 2 years younger.

Dwight Howard all day....but he needs to cut down the TO's
Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:09 am
Dwight..Okafor is slightly better defensively, but overall Dwight is better. Besides cutting down the TO's, he needs to shoot more..I see him as a 25p/13rb/2blocks guy in the future..

Dwight Howard as well,
Okafor will probally be a 19/11/3 guy, kind of like Alonzo with less intensity but more size.
Dwight on the other hand, I think he will be a Moses Malone kind of guy,
24pts/15boards/2block
I think Okafor will be a better individual defender and shot blocker, but I think Dwight's size, he is more intimidating when he is on the floor, not necessary block more shots..
Just like Yao affects the game defensively b/c of his size, but he doens't get that many blocks, ppl that get blocks are da guys that surprises you after u shoot

Definetly Dwight Howard. Okafor is amazing, but Howard has that potential to turn into a monster dominator (sort of like Shaq) or amazing team leading support player (weird explanation but sort of like KG)
Whether either of them will become a -real star- so to speak, time will tell, but there's some strong potential.
I'ma ctually worried about Bobcats. I wonder when will they break out. I remember back when Grizzlies and Raptors were the new kids on the block, and they took a handful years before obtaining any stars or strong veterans. Problem with current Bobcats is that they draft new players, who are all quite young, and sign some mediocre folks off the free agent market (and Bobcats is far from shining prospect to stars), rinse, repeat. I hope they won't pull the Bull like Chicago did after Michael, Scottie, Phil and Dennis got out of town. Chicago got amazing players and drafted them, over and over again. Yeah, Elton Brand, Ron Mercer, Ron Artest, Jamal Crawford, Jalen Rose, Eddy Curry and so on. Yeah, not all of those players turned out better after being with the Bulls, but they became more of a name after leaving the Bulls.
I wonder if the same will happen to Bobcats. Because, even if the team holds onto their greatest star (Okafor in this case, and they'll probably stick with Morrison for a while as well, needing a pure scorer, and Morrison has this clumsy advantage), it needs some veteran support (not just old player, but an experienced player, leader figure, even if behind the screens and off the bench). Okafor has potential, but potential is not something that always gets fulfilled. He needs help.
Howard is another story though, he has such players around him and well, Grant Hill is just amazing person to have in your team.

I'm going with Dwight "I wanna see the cross on the NBA Logo and one day the league will be run by Christians" Howard. With this season though Okafor was putting better stats up (20-10) than Howard till about 2-3 weeks ago.

I'm thinking it's closer than it looks at this point. The stats are very similar from both guys, with Howard edging out on points and rebounds and Okafor edging out on blocks. Defensively, both are very good, but I'd have to give Okafor the nod in that area. Offensively, they're very similar to Shaq in terms of free throw shooting, outside shooting, and interior "dominance." In the long run, I think Howard will be better given his potential, but I don't know if he'll ever average 25+ ppg.

I think Howards game is stunted by his teammates.....sort of a reverse Amare situation. Orlando has no real threats from the perimeter (besides Turkoglu) and it makes dbl teaming Howard easy. He often gets triple teamed as well. What the Magic need is some guys that can really shoot the ball.
Looking at Howards numbers doesn't really show his impact on the game as good as they are.
There are still areas that need some work. Passing, often sloppy. Defending....he's the leagues best rebounder, but he still bites on fakes from the perimeter. Dribbling....he's a liability when putting the ball on the floor. FT shooting, add more offensive moves + range. Add better awareness of reading the defense.
Still, he's probably the most dominant big man in the East. Offensively he bullies you, defensively he's excellent.

Okafor still looks like he has better anticipation and alertness on defense. Dwight is just in another league in athleticism. His leaping ability is insane for a big man... he reminds me of Amare pre microfracture. He just doesn't have his Marbury or Nash yet.
