Shaq Daddy Down Down Down...

Sat Nov 18, 2006 10:00 pm

Shaquille O'Neal tore cartilage in his left knee Sunday when he collided with Houston's Chuck Hayes and it was announced on Friday that he will undergo surgery on that knee. The injury was originally diagnosed as a hyperextended knee.

He is expected to miss four to six weeks of play.

Dr. Harlan Selesnick will perform surgery on the center at a date to be determined. After surgery, O’Neal can begin rehabilitation immediately.

May be sad, but I'm feeling a little happy deep in my heart...
Why? Because I think Heat didn't really deserve that championship last season and I just can't stand Shaq's attitude nowadays..

Good luck Daddy!

We will finally see why Carmelo Anthony and especially LeBron James and others are better than D Wade. Bout time for the hype about Wade to stop. :D

Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:32 am

Well I was thinking just like you before the Finals, but now I think Wade can be even better than Carmelo or LeBron(at times)...

Sure, that's the only reason, sure.

He's good but I don't think he's as good as he's hyped up to be... I mean, even LeBron has stepped up on defence...

Wade is definitely better than Carmelo. He will carry the Heat for sure... this is good news for my fantasy team, as I'm guessing Wade will be taking more shots and increasing his stats even more :D

I hate injuries, no matter who has to endure them. It really makes me shake my head when someones happy because of someone's injury. I hope Shaq recovers soon and continues to do what he does, since he doesn't have too much years left.

I dont know what to think of the three. Right now its basically a tie for me betwee, Wade, Lebron and Carmelo. I've loved Carmelo ever since seeing him in high school (not in the gay way you were just imagining) and followed him through college feeling he was under appreciated in comparison to Lebron. He was robbed his rookie season of the ROY award and while I also see features about this great rivalry between Wade and Lebron I sit and wonder if all those great matchups Carmelo has had with them have been forgotten so easily. Ah well.

Wade will play well, turnovers will jump a bit but his scoring and assists will be there. Look for a million free throws a night because the refs sure love him. Shaq will be missed but if they get a big, defensive body in for a bit he will barely be missed.

Wade is the worst of the three of them. And I don't think Wade can carry the team. You can tell I don't like him that much. I'm a Melo fan...

Oh I doubt about this one man...

He might turn into a better one in the future, cause he's(melo) younger, but now Wade's better...

Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:15 am

Wade can't carry a team? LOL!

Can Melo? Hahahah...

But I'm pretty sure my main man LJ23 Can..

I'll say :

1) Wade.
2) Lebron.
3) Melo.

Shaq didn't play good in the finals. (13.6 ppg.)
Mean while Wade averaged 34.6 ppg, 7.8 Rpg in the finals.

In the world cup, the best was Carmelo for sure.

Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:35 am

I say:

Kobe
LeBron
Ray Allen
Melo
Wade

If it wasn't for the touch foul rules wade would be like 10 spaces down. He's a fantastic player and it really makes me mad that the touch fouls have to change him into a manu ginobili (benifit from drawing fouls) type of player.

Dwyane Wade played well in the finals because shaq was drawing double teams nearly every heat possesion thus leaving massive holes in the paint for wade to drive and get fouled. Melo is great player and one of the best scorers no doubt, but id have to rank Wade slightly higher because of his defense and his passing ability. Lebron is so far in front its not funny...

Sun Nov 19, 2006 11:07 am

Well if you put Lebron or Melo in Wades team then i think they would have won a championship as well. Lebron also has the better team compared to Melo, Melos team, my team Denver are ridden with injuries and some really bad players while Lebron has Gooden, Ilgaslkus, Larry Hughes and some really good bench players in Damon Jones, Varejo and Wesley. Wades team is stacked with talent hence the reason they won the championship and then you compare Melos team Camby- good player but ridden with injuries, K-mart is the same as camby plus his attitude a slow fat and selfish point guard in the Miller and then a bench who cant score to save their lives.

If Wade cant keep Miami winning then there is something wrong seeing as Shaq is only one of many talented players on that team.

Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:00 pm

First off they aren't your team, get over that fact already.

Secondly...

Lebron's team isn't that much better, atleast I don't think so. Denver has stars, maybe not superstars, but they have stars. Camby is a potential defensive player of the year, Martin can be a beast, Miller is a great playmaker then you have a spark off the bench in Boykins etc.

Lebron didn't have Hughes much of the season, Jones is a streaky shooter, Ilgauskus is old and Gooden shows up to play from time to time.

Bugger off with the his team is better than our team argument. Lebron is a better player, not because of his team, because he just is.

Be a fanboy, by all means, but don't lose focus on reality. Sheesh.

Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:32 pm

Lebron is so far in front its not funny...

if u have a 4 inch and a 20 pound advantage over a opponent, it's pretty likely that he will have an advantage....

How did this thread become a Melo-LBJ thing? Anyways, I think it's sad to see people who are happy to see a player out with an injury. I mean, is it fun to beat Heat now without Shaq in it? Is it important achievement as a result?

Anyways, carrying the team, well Wade is definetly capable of doing that. And in my opinion, he is capable of doing that more than Lebron (who managed to get blown out today without his wingman Hughes). And well, Heat has Mourning who is still a force to consider.

Shaw is however sort of Ben Wallace type these days. Statistics don't really show how important he is to his team. His presence can turn the game around, so it will be interesting to see the already-struggling Heat weather the following days out.

Sun Nov 19, 2006 2:18 pm

Our of the three of them it is:

1) LeBron
2) Melo
3) Wade

That's it. It's final! And discussion is over on this topic.

Back to the subject at hand, Shaq should be cool for the playoffs I think. Maybe a return from injury will rejuvenate him...

Sun Nov 19, 2006 4:27 pm

Yup.. If SHAQ ATTACK is back.. HEAT will be going to the playoffs
