Today Spurs-Maccabi. Wouldn't be surprised if Maccabi win.
Sun Oct 08, 2006 8:23 pm
lol yeah.
And id like to make a correction to my post....CSKA are another team from this tour that should DEFINATELY be included in the European division. Good to see Aussie David Andersen have a solid 9point 6 rebound game.
Sun Oct 08, 2006 9:29 pm
I'm surprised David Andersen isn't in NBA....he was Australia's best at 2004 Olympics, & is a very capable big....
to anyone who has seen any of these games, have they been using the new "sticky" NBA ball?!? if so, how have the players adjusted to it....

Yes, they are using that ball, but I really didn't see any difference...

Spurs dominated Maccabi withe their defense.
I wish I caught the beginning of the Clips-CSKA game. I was Interested to see how former teammates Brand, Maggette, and Langdon reacted to playing each other

Does anybody got a pic of parker trying to dunk and bumping the ball in the rim?
man that was the funniest thing I saw including Varejao's airball FT...
Mon Oct 09, 2006 6:28 am
It was a nice face expression on Popovics face after that failed dunk

He's even planning to lead the league in rebounds. I shite you not.
Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:26 am
There are no more games left right?
Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:40 am
I think the Sixers are going to Germany to play with 3 other teams (I think the Clippers and two European teams)

Preseason games in Europe like this are a good chance to see how foreign players would match up to the NBA, make basketball even more of a global sport.
Tue Oct 10, 2006 12:47 pm
not quite though, because this is NBA teams at their worst. They're not in peak condition and have to adjust to new teammates/coaches etc. A better test would be mid to late season.
Wed Oct 11, 2006 5:23 am
dammit Im watching the Suns/Sixers gamefrom Colonge right now... Amare's not doing much (he didn't even start) but I have to go to class
the first NBA basketball I have seen in months... and it feels so good

Yeah, as if these guys really care about these games. Let's see, what are both teams mentalities going in to the games.
NBA team- Who gives a shit, its a preseason game that's not even against another NBA team.
European team- LET'S GO GET THESE GUYS AND WIN!! WE ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL OF THE NBA WE CAN DO IT!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And thats exactly why the rest of the world is getting better, while Americans are getting worse.
Attitude has ALOT to do with it
Wed Oct 11, 2006 2:41 pm
I have no doubt that America will always be the best basketball country.... at least during my time. People have to understand
1) NBA Players (apart from bench warmers looking to show what they can do) don't care about these games
2) NBA Players pretty much seem them as a practice or workout, these games are even below real preseason NBA games
3) NBA Player have to adjust to the game, they are not used to guarding 7 foot 3 point specialists that they have never heard of
4) They have no real idea of what the other teams style/stars etc are
Wed Oct 11, 2006 5:44 pm
wow the Sixers came back on the Suns down like 22... and not even with their starters... their 2nd team with Korver, Carney, Iguodala, Brunson, and Randolph came back and took down the Suns' starters
Carney hit the go-ahead 3 over Nash I think and the Suns couldn't respond, even though they had 2, 3 good looks at the basket.
Wed Oct 11, 2006 7:28 pm
Rodney Carney is awesome

CSKA is losing right now to Philly 47-32
Thu Oct 12, 2006 7:37 am
Philly really impressed me with the last 2 games vs CSKA and Phoenix. Looks like they finaly improved their defense (starting with Dalembert). They will most likely make the playoffs this year.
Thu Oct 12, 2006 7:47 am
man CSKA got owned by Philly. It seemed espically easy, mostly in the 2nd half
Thu Oct 12, 2006 10:37 pm
I haven't seen this posted in this thread but I was wondering about if the teams played on a European size court?
Fri Oct 13, 2006 1:32 am
Sammy D's statline in those 2 games are just

.
So it's preseason, but it's a good glimpse of things to come.
Fri Oct 13, 2006 7:19 am
Steve Nash does it again....
Mike Dunleavy, eat your heart out.
