Only time will tell how good he'll be, but to say he'll be better than arguably the #1 C in the NBA right now despite never having played a single college or NBA game yet seems a bit silly.

well im guessing you have had very limited coverage as well, so how can you say he wont be? nbadraft.net has some good stuff on him, and yea i said everything they said. it wasnt like i was reading directly off the page and writing it down in my own words, what i said was how i describe the guy. Yao should be alot better than he is simply because of his size, he averages like 1.6 blocks per, less than 6'7 Gerald Wallace, who has far less chances to block shots since he mostly defends the perimeter - and very well at that. As for Oden, everything points to him being the next superstar big man.

That's a stupid argument. No one should be better than someone else purely because of their size, most of the tallest players in the NBA have been average to bad. Gerald Wallace is also one of the best defensive players in the entire league, and one of the few players to ever average 2bpg and 2spg in a season.

I just can't understand how you're so convinced you're right despite seeing him play once and reading a bunch of scouting reports. Everyone knows he's a good player and potentially a great one, but you talk as if you have some indepth knowledge of his game which is something you can't get from an all-star game, some scouting reports and a few highlights.

That's not true. Oden is not more athletic than a HS Kwame was, but he does have two inches on him and more length. Keep in mind that Kwame was supposed to be a bigger version of Chris Webber.

hey, i admit, i may be wrong. if Oden does turn out like Kwame, then yeah, I was completely wrong. I have no indepth knowledge or insight into his game. I have never seen him play a full high school game. Ive read a hell of alot of reports. Size is a huge factor in shot blocking, and also gives a player an advantage on offense, especially a player in the post. Oden might not turn out how "im so convinced" he is going to be, and i will gladly take back what i said and accept the fact that i made a wrong judgement and hopped on the Greg Oden bandwagon too early. Until then, i wont.

by the way, how many full games of Greg Oden do you have?

I had 4-6, they're long gone now but I got them from M2 and torrents.

Yeah it's 10gb per month unfortunately, the games ranged between 700mb-1gb. There's plenty around, his team were televised on ESPN a fair bit it seems.

On the 2007 draft:

Greg Oden is the real deal, and he will be better then Yao. However, if he does come out after his freshman year it will take him 3 years. If he stays 2 years in school, it will happen right away. Oden is a David Robinson clone with more athleticism. Greg will be a 19/14 guy in this league and he'll win multiple DPOY awards.

Only last winter he had an operation on his (can't remember which) foot to repair the injury that has plagued him for years, but he's never basically had the chance to get it fixed due to international duties. Now he is finally healthy, for the first time in his NBA career and he starts putting 30/15 on the stat line. Yao will become the dominant NBA center this season... He will be the best, his game will not be like Shaq, but more like the Dream's... Yao isn't about all power, but a more finesse center.

I expect Yao to finally show us what he's got now that he has his mobility back to the level it was back in Shanghai... I expect Yao's numbers to go up as everyone on that team will realize that they are going to win games, by simply giving the big man the ball... I also expect T-Mac to play a career year too, if he stays healthy that is, as Yao will command more and more respect on the offensive end it will leave T-Mac more space to do his thing...

If the dynamic duo can stay healthy, Houston is going to play-offs and nothing will stop them... If...

Yea im only 16 But theres no way i would of mentioned guys Perkins, Robertson and maybe even Otis Thorpe, yet alone Terence Stansbury, Bowie, Wood, Fleming and Thompson. When I said Antoine Walker and Shareef Abdur-Rahim, remember that i only said early in their careers, dont forget fat ass averaged 22 and 10 in his second season, and stayed close to the 20 and 10 mark for years after that. as for Reef, he was a 20 and 10 guy early in his career and was very very solid for years to come, ntil the injuries really slowed him down. I dont think the players i listed were really out of line (bar skipping over old man Willis), especially since Reef and Antoine were only partially mentioned on the list.

Sam Perkins was the man, I wish he still played.

He was a big fan favorite in Indy. He could do nothing, just sit on the bench all game, and whenever his name was mentioned the entire crowd would erupt into the "SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH" cheer.

It was funny, at Reggie's retirement ceremony, Perk was there, and when they announced his name everyone does the smooooth cheer, and people thought he was getting booed.
