Mon Aug 28, 2006 11:24 am

a team of current NBA vets(10+yrs) that has had a good career and impact on the NBA, but just missing the ring..

C- Mutombo (yao is young, not much good C these days..)
PF- K. Garnett
SF- Finley/ Grant Hill... hard to think of 1.. hill career been injuried
SG- Iverson
PG- Kidd (only his J is critized..no question he makes teams/players better and shows what a real pg is)

alltime

C- Ewing
PF- Malone/ Barkley
SF- ?
SG-REggie Miller
PG- Stockton

Mon Aug 28, 2006 12:32 pm

He needs to go through this season before the 10 year mark.

All Time:
C- Ewing
PF- Malone
SF- Barkley (He could play it)
SG- Alex English
PG- Stockton

I think I would put, Allen Iverson or Reggie Miller over Alex English.

I've made my picks similar to the All-NBA teams, disregarding specific position in some cases and naming a centre, two guards and two forwards. I've also nominated a Sixth Man spot.

Current

C: Dikembe Mutombo
F: Kevin Garnett
F: Grant Hill
G: Allen Iverson
G: Jason Kidd

Sixth Man: Michael Finley

All-Time

C: Patrick Ewing
F: Karl Malone
F: Charles Barkley
G: Reggie Miller
G: John Stockton

Sixth Man: Dominique Wilkins

I wonder where sprewell fits on these lists

Mon Aug 28, 2006 1:52 pm

Shouldn't this be an Non-Ring Team rather than Ring Team?

Mon Aug 28, 2006 2:00 pm

Its "I NEED A RING" team, makes perfect sense.

Mon Aug 28, 2006 2:10 pm

Current

C: Dikembe Mutombo
F: Kevin Garnett
F: Grant Hill
G: Allen Iverson
G: Penny Hardaway! (well not really current, but kinda)

Sixth Man: Michael Finley

All-Time

C: Patrick Ewing
F: Karl Malone
F: Charles Barkley
G: Reggie Miller
G: John Stockton

Sixth Man: Dominique Wilkins

lol notice how all the all-time guys were taken down by Jordan in the early/late 90's... I think Payton/Zo would be up there too if they hadn't won this year.

Mon Aug 28, 2006 9:14 pm

all time: "Stockton to Malone"[/b]

Current : dale davis or Brian Grant
[/b]

Probably the MVP of non-ring players is Kevin Garnett, he's currently the best player without a ring because of the situation in Minnesota.

Who are you, a double post monkey?

What about Stackhouse, Ray Allen, Nash and Paul Pierce?

If Sprewell wanted it that badly, I think he would have accepted a smaller contract.

Tue Aug 29, 2006 2:23 am

Paul Pierce hasnt been in the NBA ten years, but I'd be willing to put Ray Allen and Steve Nash on that list....

He wants 10+ year veterans, so that cuts the selection down to a handful.

Tue Aug 29, 2006 3:19 am

how is reggie better than dominique???

Tue Aug 29, 2006 3:34 pm

Very True, Dominique is widely considered the one of the best players who was not voted into the NBA's greatest 50, among guys like Kobe and Tim Duncan.

Tue Aug 29, 2006 4:01 pm

Does Darko have a ring?

Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:34 pm

Yeah, even Darko has a ring... :x Malone/Stockton is just soooo close to that championship, damn Bulls just couldn't stop winning.

Wed Aug 30, 2006 4:21 am

Darko has a ring, but D-Wade's the first '03 player to earn his.

Carmelo Anthony has a pretty good chance of ending up here.

Wed Aug 30, 2006 8:38 am

Where's Chris Webber?

Thu Aug 31, 2006 10:33 pm

Darko's gonna get more....MORE I TELL YOU...

Kobe and Tim Duncan aren't in the NBA's 50 Greatest Players, the league chose the 50 during the ?'96-'97? season. Why should Kobe and Tim be added then when Kobe was still a rookie and Duncan wasn't even in the NBA.
