Satement Regarding Zach Randolph
Since this matter is under investigation, out of respect for the legal process, we simply cannot comment at this time. Once we have all the facts, we will act accordingly. This is in response to the following statement issued by the Portland Police Bureau:
Late last week I received several calls about a possible criminal investigation involving Zach Randolph of the Portland Trail Blazers. At the time, for investigative reasons I was not able to confirm any information. The Police Bureau will now confirm that on August 14, 2006, an officer took a report of a sexual assault and that the report involved Zach Randolph. However, the Police Bureau is not identifying Zach Randolph as a suspect in the criminal investigation. This is an ongoing investigation and detectives are still interviewing potential witnesses.

Time to just move him, i wouldnt want to deal with this guy anymore. Players like this get too many chances.

Hes had too many chances. Hes pretty much fucked up his career and nobody wants a guy who is always in trouble with the law. Another shit thing is he has a huge contract.

why did we fucking sign him to a max deal why why why

^ and get Most Improved player in the league that season too I believe...

He could be sooooood dominant, but he jsut cant keep himself straight off the court. Lefty, with a polished back to the basket game, 18 foot range and some rebounding ability. Waste of talent.

Yeah, nobody knew that he would get into so much trouble.
Trailblazers just got cursed.

no matter how good a player is, never offer him the max if he's got off court problems. Carmelo seems the exception since he doesn't let his off court drama affect his game.

Just trade him to Boston in exchange for Ratliff. Would that trade go through? I mean, Ratliff just came from Portland, I'm not very sure if they can trade him back.

I'd have to agree with you there....the max deals should only really go to the LBJ's, the Lebron's, the Bosh's & the Melo's of the world....the Boozer's, Randolph's & other idiot shouldn't be getting anywhere near these other proven players....ahh well, it's the Blazers' fault....I don't feel sorry for them one bit....

I don't feel sorry for them one bit....
me neither since they chose Randolph over Rasheed

It still doesn't change the fact that Randolph's probably one of the biggest tools currently in the NBA.

- You forgot half the reason was his knee surgery whihc I feel no doubt had an effect on his game. That's only at maximum; half the reason for his poor play.

Even if he's not a suspect, he was still somewhat involved to be mentioned, that itself means he's in a bad crowd and messing with things he shouldn't be.
You'd think that after seeing Shawn Kemp's career go down the drain, players would learn.

These guys make so much money and they don't know how to act lol. . it's sad

No doubt that Randolph's a punk, but a lot of you are acting as if he already pleaded guilty to the crime. With that said, I do believe he needs to be shipped out. The Blazers should've tried to shop him around some more to teams that'd need his skill set. Maybe the Nets? Even the Knicks could've taken him with Isiah there.

The Nets...well they took Marcus Williams, who was involved in laptop theft or something back at college. But even if the Nets need a big man who can play well, Zach Randolph is not worth the dilemmas he'll cause.
Players like him belong in counseling, not on the court.
