No more Pau and his beard.

yeah man that's 3:30 AM on the west coast
there's no way I'm getting up for that...
NBA TV re-airs the games the next day, so I'll have to catch USA/China tomorrow.
Now you know how we feel here in Spain when we want to watch an NBA game Live ...

Anyone in the Eastern US know where to catch the games?
I'm in the Northeast area, if it helps.

ESPN 2 at 6:30 AM or you can catch it on NBA TV the next day if you have that channel. They also played a few games on Fox Sports.
I just got done watching Spain/Germany and I must admit Spain is going to be a hard team to beat... Germany is a little one-dimensional with Dirk. I gotta admit Juan Carlos Navarro is very impressive and despite looking mediocre on Toronto last year, Calderon looks pretty decent.

Well it looks like we almost have the win against Ausies in the bag. Macas is good, and Javtokas also. Songaila, as ussualy, solid. Kalnietis - nice.

We are absolutely terrible. Actually I'll change that, our guards are absolutely terrible. You'd think Bogut doesn't even exist, bunch of useless shot jackers
Wed Aug 23, 2006 5:52 pm
Bring back Andrew Gaze and Shane Heal.

And D-Mac.

yeaah australian guards are not qualified as they have big problems about inbounding the ball and getting the ball to the half court etc..

They still can qualify. They need Brazil to lose against Lithuania.

are the Boomers simply playing the Sydney Kings' style of ball?!? If so, their performances are not too surprising....not going to Bogut, it's unbelievable....at least a team like China goes to Yao....the supporting cast just isn't there for Yao....damn, the Aussies can still qualify, but they've put their backs to the walls in this tourney....

The thing is, Goorjian is constantly screaming at them during time-outs to get the ball to Bogut but the guards just ignore him and do their own thing. All they do is swing the ball around and jack threes, or on the odd occassion they give the ball to Bogut they just stand there and wait for him to do something. It's pretty hard to watch.
Wed Aug 23, 2006 11:57 pm
that's a real shame....I guess if Lithuania does Australia a favour, they salvage some pride (although surely not too much after everything that has happened)....
do you reckon Bogut might get sick of it after while & stop playing international ball, or do you reckon he's committed even if he's not getting the ball?!?
Thu Aug 24, 2006 12:18 am
I think he's committed, he's been playing with most of these guys since he was a teenager. I've never seen him going off at anyone for not giving him the ball, but it must get annoying after a while.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 12:22 am
i remember when i went to a tall blacks vs australia match a few years back, and bogut was there after the game picking something up from the bench and i walked up and just said "good win" then hes like "yea thanks", i didnt really care about him till i heard his named called as the number one draft pick and i was pretty amazed, the fact that i had talked to him

, but mainly the fact that he had ridden the bench almost the entire game...

I have to say the New Zealand team looks like crap, even though we are through to the last 16. We, like so many other teams in this tourny, live and die by the 3-point shot.
AUS VS USA CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Thu Aug 24, 2006 9:10 pm
Go Lithuania

Bogut was completely dominating in the 3rd quarter against QATAR, at one point he dribbled the length of the court, wrapped the ball around his back and passed off to a wide open man for a 3. Not to mention taking his man off the dribble and dunking, if only we had some decent guards.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 10:45 pm
You know who dominated ? Dirk did !
A thrilling game vs Angola with triple overtime and Dirk scored 47
He hit the tying contested threeball with 2 seconds left in the 1st overtime, shot 100% FT (18-18 I think) and also had some pretty defensive stopps.
We are strugglin a bit at the moment, but Dirk is there to keep Germany alive
Fri Aug 25, 2006 5:23 am
Hova Dirk was clutch/sexy/amazing all at once last night
I made a few stupid predictions but they aren't to bad

Italy's pretty good at that though, they tore up the USA starters early in their game.
