Pollard can replace Miller for half the money, while Ferry's contract ends after this season.

Actually...Ferry doesn't even really have an active contract...the Spurs just traded his contract, which the Pacers can dump immediately for cap space...

With Webber, Divac, Clark and Wallace already it doesn't look like [Miller] will get huge minutes.

Pollard is 6'11 265lbs. and Miller 7'0 261lbs. so they didn't really get much smaller. (One inch.. ) Pollard can play center. I don't see why Pollard can't replace Miller. His offense is probably the only aspect of his game that's lacking compared to Miller, and the Pacers have plenty of options who can take some of Miller's shots.

I think you misunderstood me. I know they are approx. the same height, I was more commenting on the fact that Pollard doesn't really replace Miller in the skills department. Pollard isn't shit by any menas but he isn't at Miller's level.....

As Gadzuric mentioned, pollard should allow o'neal to go back to PF and should be a more then competent center in the east.

I didn't really mean Wallace to a great extent, that's why I said him last, but the Kings are still trying to develop him, so he is going to get minutes up front with Webber and Divac. I don't think he will get as many minutes as Miller though.

That's just one person's suggestion, but I too think Divac will move to the bench.

yes he was. before this trade happened, Jermaine most likely would be that starting center. He's 6-7, 215, he's a wing player. He is backing up Pedja and Christie. He will see more minutes this season, probably not as many as Miller, but perhaps more considering currently he's the only wing backup. I don't see the Kings playing him at PF or C, and thus he shouldn't have any effect on Miller.

good move for the spurs, they are looking very scary now, and it'll be interesting to see what turko can do with some more minutes and a bigger role...... hopefully mercer still has the 20 ppg talent he used to..... he'll probably become a better stephen jackson......... san antonio is being built really nice, and now they're real young again.

p.s. was the reason i never saw steve smith last year because he was injured? and is he still around? retiring?

I think he might play a little pf when the Kings run a small lineup, but like I said I don't think he will have a great impact on Miller's numbers.

Great move for the Spurs, I remember when Ron Mercer was with the Bulls...he really did a number on the Spurs a few times. Turkoglu is very versatile, and should be able to fill out a stat sheet if he gets the mintues. The battle for starting positions will be interesting to see between Bowen/Ginobili/Mercer/Turkoglu. About Steve Smith...he started early in the season, but he wasn't contributing the way he did the year before for the Spurs (his 3 point percentage really tapered off from the '01-'02 season.). The Spurs began starting Jackson then, and then Ginobili regained his health, so Smith fell from #1 to #3 very quickly .
