Van Horn to NY?

Sun Jul 20, 2003 11:30 pm

I've been hearing of rumors like this for a long time and I think I dont like this thing happen, man it will be totally terrible, were dead.

i dont think so,van horn stays to philly!

Mon Jul 21, 2003 1:56 am

yippeeeeeee...i heard those rumors allready last year...i hope this year he's gone from philly..this man cant play in the playoffs!

Mon Jul 21, 2003 3:10 am

yeah i heard of those rumors but the deal does not send Spree to Philly...

Well, I don't really like Van Horn either but this might be a decent move for the Knicks because Sprewell is getting old now. Only a couple good years left in him and Van Horn got like anther 10 years. If Spree has anther bad year this year, they should trade him..good sign of someone aging

i agree with what your saying, the knicks do need to get some young talent in return for spree... but KVH? come on!! they can do better than that. another rumour that ive heard is that spree's on his way to the spurs in a deal that would send malik rose to NY, but like the knicks dont have enough pf's already.
i would rather keep hold of latrell than trade him for these two players.
but thats just my opinion.

i would hate to see van horn too, i don't really like him, he is has been a big bust so far, but maybe NY can put some defense in his mind and he can be useful.

Mon Jul 21, 2003 7:37 am

van horn is perfect for the knicks( or anywhere else we can send him) really though, i hope they can at least work out a three team deal, i don't think sprewell is the answer for philly either, they need a solid big man badly, but could get away with any consistent long range shooter in place of kvh or spree with a better post presence.

Mon Jul 21, 2003 7:39 am

spree could be a big help for philly, they desparetely need a consistent second scoring option next to AI, but in the end, i dont see this deal happening

Mon Jul 21, 2003 7:49 am

he could be, but i think their offense runs too much through ai for spree to be as effective as he should. they have tendencies to let ai operate and then pass out if has no driving lane, and that would leave spree standing around alot, i think he needs the ball in his hands some to be more creative, and i don't see philly giving him a lot of opportunity to do that. he would be a better choice than van horn though.

i can just see KVH been another charles smith....soft
when smith came to ny he was a budding star with a good up side then under the ny spot lights he got a rep for been too soft at both ends of the court, something that KVH is already known for. i just dont think it would help the knicks or KVH in the long run..... but that just my opinion.

i hope philly trades KVH...for guys like kurt thomas and some pg or kurt thomas and sweetney or just for sweetney...if this works with player salaries

Mon Jul 21, 2003 1:54 pm

i'd like to send him to sac for hedo.

It's a shame New York didn't manage to land Nesterovic or Olowokandi, since that's the kind of player they needed - a legitimate 7 foot centre who can do more than just be the 5th player on the court.

i think new york has trouble deciding exactly what they want to do on offense, and they seem a little shy to try to commit to an offense that is post first.

Charles Smith... brings me back memories of like 4 layups blocked by Scottie Pippen in the Eastern conference finals...
