Someone pointed out at Youtube, it's a 540. He doesn't do two full revolutions, he does one and a half.

Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:02 pm

540, 720, 900...whatever it was it still looks sexy.

Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:18 pm

its a 540 dunk, but a 720 jump, since he makes 2 full rotations by the time his feet hit the ground.

Seems more like a full spin and three quarters to me, if we're gonna get technical, haha. So 630. Then take away the amount of degress judging by where his feet left the ground, it's more of a 600-620.

Wed Jul 05, 2006 3:45 pm

320, 590, 747, that was shit was ridiculous. probably the most impressive dunk i've ever seen. the guy was like the blade for a blender

Wed Jul 05, 2006 6:06 pm

I don't care if it was 540 or w/e, it was fucking awesome

Wed Jul 05, 2006 6:35 pm

Yeah, and what is really impressive is that he didnt fall down afterward. I just tried to jump up and spin in a circle and nearly passed out ::sigh::

OMG ! What a Dunk ! I've seen Kadour Ziani TRYING this dunk on a dunk contest, but it wasn't that spectacular.

Wed Jul 05, 2006 8:17 pm

After being bored and looking at the dunk several times I noticed it's a 550 degree dunk.

STILL INCREDIBLE

Wed Jul 05, 2006 11:54 pm

i dont give a fuck how many degrees that shit was, if i could do that i would get down on my knees and thank god every fucking day. holy shit. and he was only 6'2"! that makes it even better!

He did a 540. Ice skaters could do quads (1440) and they jump pretty high if they want to do that. This guy in the video is a basketball player with a nice vertical.

Like I said, his dunk doesn't impress me. Spud Webb impresses me.

Jaesus christ...seriously..he needs to lay off the nba live.

I wish people would stop trying to say exactly how many degrees he turns..cause 99% of "360" dunks aren't really a complete revolution. What matters is that he's done something we've all never seen done before and didnt think was possible.

this guy is 6'2. that is still pretty short...roar
ice skaters dont have big hands, u need big hands to palm the ball to dunk it otherwise it would just bounce out. you need strength to. personally i dont think ice skaters have the same strength as basketball players do.
and ice skating and basketball are 2 completely different sports. thats like comparing writing to reading.

I would like the point out that ice skaters get a much faster start than a basketball player and they don't really jump, they "vault"

everyone who witnessed this in person had to be in awe, if any of you haters were there you would have been the first one to post this here to claim its pure awesomeness.

Thu Jul 06, 2006 9:28 am

Yea but the ones JaoSming posted arent as insane as the one by air up there. Compared to Air Up There's those are nothing.

I don't think it was lame I'm just not that impressed. I've seen that other guys attempt at a 720 and THAT was impressive. Even though he missed it.

And who's the idiot who said we're "haters"? Am I supposed to be impressed by everything you're impressed by?

I'm aware of that, but what I'm saying is, I've seen ice skaters spin so often that I'm used to it. I've also seen many basketball players do a 360, and I'm used to that too. Which brings me to my next explanation below...

Drex wrote:I wonder what kind of dunk Jae or cy expected. They're like "Oh, he only did a 540...lame"

I think I've seen too many dunks in my lifetime that a slight half revolution increase wouldn't be enough to impress me.

Fri Jul 07, 2006 8:34 am

Watch his full repertoire and you'll be impressed. He just has the biggest hops I've ever seen.
cyanide wrote:I think I've seen too many dunks in my lifetime that a slight half revolution increase wouldn't be enough to impress me.
I respect your opinion on the dunk, but it's actually more than a half revolution increase since 360s dunks aren't full revolutions 99% of the time either (not even Carter's or Bryant's).

Maybe if they'd cut off the yelling little wankster at the end of the clip more people would appreciate the dunk.

Fri Jul 07, 2006 9:34 am

If we're going to be that exact on what a 360/720 is, i've seen very few full 360s done then. Not from Kobe, not from Smith, or anyone. They all "cheat" if that's what we're calling AUT's 720.

The last real 360 i saw was many year's ago VC's 2nd year...he took off facing the basket, spun 360, and dunked 2 handed while staring at the basket front on.

Basic point...true 360s are rare enough that what AUT did was incredible.

Fri Jul 07, 2006 1:14 pm

WOW @_@! That's crazy, now all I need to see is someone doing a double between the legs, and I'd have seen everything. Who cares whether it's 540, 630 or 720, it's more spin than what we are usually accustomed to and it just looks amazing.

Sat Jul 08, 2006 9:18 pm

Yeah i've seen through the legs twice(but only on Live), but that still looks more sick  how bout 720 through legs twice. Heck i'd draft him if he could do that
