Players that would make good coaches

Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:12 am

Who would you like to see as a coach that is currently playing in the NBA?

First person that comes to mind for me is Gary Payton. He seems like the kind of firey person that would be a great coach.

Olliver Miller- Eating Coach

Alonzo Morning- How to inject steroids and not get caught

Shaq- Free Throw Assistant

Kobe- Shooting in Volume

Lebron- Clutch Time Situations

I'll think of real people later.

Steve Nash, Sam Cassell, and Gary Payton come to mind for me.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:32 am

Darrel Amstrong , Nick Van Exel and Jason Kidd

Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:42 am

Fred Hoiberg

I also think that John Stockton and Charles Barkley would both make extremely good coaches if they ever decided to get involved.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:49 am

I think Barkley is better as an analyst. I can't picture having his type of personality being fitting for a coach.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:52 am

jason kidd would make a good passing coach, ron mercer would make a good athletics coach (Y)

Michael Olowokandi anyone?

Thu Jun 22, 2006 12:06 pm

Michael Sweentey as Conditioning Coach.

I'll raise you a Mark Blount

LOL- I think GP and NVE are terrible candidates.

Have you guys already forgotten the play where Payton was too busy arguing to the refs than he didn't notice the pass coming to him, and it ended in a turnover? And Van Exel has 'tude problems.

As mentioned before, I think Sam Cassell would be a good coach. I also think Derek Fisher and Eric Snow would make good coaches (funny how they're all point guards).

Thu Jun 22, 2006 12:42 pm

i think bruce bowen would become a good Defensive coach

I guess it isnt too surprising, considering traditionally, a point guard is suppose to run the offense, making the decisions on the offfensive end, so i guess they would do the same from the coaching point of view, making all the decisions and stuff.

No, infact that play was why I chose GP as a good potential coach. Gotta know how to argue with the refs :D

Yep , because the point gouard knows all the plays and strategies , the PG commands the team .

Then , the point guards knows a lot of basketball.

PD : Shaq gonna be a great FISICAL CONDITIONING ASISTANT

maybe steven nash, darrel armstrong, brevin knight, tim duncan, eric snow, maybe jason kidd, and i somehow think ai might make a good one even though all logic points againts it.

LOLZ!11!1 ROFLMAO!1!!!

Someone get this guy a mic -- this would be great material for a standup routine.

Scorer--20 should also look into becoming a comedian.

Honestly guys, keep 'em coming. You're so f'ing hilarious.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 3:19 pm

Rasheed Wallace would make a excellent coach!! :D. First coach to get more technicals than his players combined.
Jason Kidd would make a great coach. Lawrence Frank wouldn't be in the Playoffs without him. Allen Iverson would also make a great coach if he could cut down his attitude. Or Damon Jones. I hope he wears his leopard suit again for his first game as a coach.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 3:37 pm

Rick Brunson, Lindsay Hunter, Bob Sura, Darrell Armstrong obviously, Antonio Daniels, and of course Andre Miller

Thu Jun 22, 2006 6:20 pm

Well probably mostly point guards.
Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Sarunas Jasikevicius and ect.
By the way, in a recent interview to a Lithuanian newspaper, Kenny Anderson said he would maybe DECIDE ( ) to coach an NBA team.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 6:27 pm

jason kidd and nash

Thu Jun 22, 2006 8:09 pm

Well I also see Bowen as a coach. He has the mentality and the skills to succeed in such a position. Nash and Kidd obviously but somehow I feel that Grant Hill would be an excellent coach.

Thu Jun 22, 2006 8:24 pm

Robert Horry, been in so many situations in his career...
Nick van Exel just like everybody mentioned
Gary Payton might turn out as another Avery Johnson
