As far as Griffin, Dampier, Diop and those type of players, I don't consider them to have big games for Dallas, but just like Posey they could be key defensive factors.

That I don't agree with. Posey is definetly a threat from the 3pt line... he's by far the best shooter on the Heat. He just doesn't have any plays run from him, so usually he gets open looks when Shaq is doubled. If he hits 3 or 4 three pointers, the Heat usually win.

That's what I'm saying, thats the only reason why I don't see him as a threat on offense. It's like he has to be open in order for him to get his shots off because he can't really create his own shot. He was like that when he played in Memphis. He get his points from fastbreak dunks, wide open shots and at the line. I've rarely seen him use his post up game that he use to have in Memphis, but I could be wrong because its not like I've been watching the Heat all year long anyway  It seems to me that Dallas has made it where if Shaq is doubled, they are able to get out quick enough to either contest the outside jumper or force them to keep moving the ball around.

So wat you're saying is because we have more defensive players and they have more offensive players they will beat us?

Fri Jun 16, 2006 9:07 am

I mean, I just really don't think the Heat can beat the Mavericks straight up

They just did though. The way you talk about the mavs and heat you'd expect the mavs to be up 3-0 and have a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter of game 4. The fact remains Dallas is only up by one game, and miami has an excellent chance to win game 4 today. And I also find it somewhat amusing that you rate Daniels as a "threat", but Antonie Walker isnt?

Nobody is saying you shouldnt have an opinion, but when you say this isnt a series (despite it being 2-1) and that miami has no shot against dallas (despite winning the last game) it just makes you look like a matt jnr piston fan, and who here actually respects any of the piston fans opinions?

It's stupid to use the "number of scoring threats" as a reason for why the Mavs should be smoking the Heat. History has shown that it's irrelevant if the superstars are playing at their superstar status. The 1998 Pacers had more threats than the Chicago Bulls, but they didn't have Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The 2000 Blazers and 2003 Kings didn't have Kobe Bryant or Shaquille O'Neal. 3-8 they dominated, but all it takes is one or two superstars to make that a moot point.

The fact is, the Heat have Dwayne Wade and they have Shaq, two guys who can create for themselves and others. All the players who get on the floor for the Heat are scoring threats when they play through Shaq and Wade, minus Gary Payton who has been struggling with his three-point shot.

Basically, I think the Heat are just as dangerous as the Mavs on offense, due to the system they play in which runs thorugh D-Wade and Shaq. The only time the "more scoring threats" should factor in is when you're talking about fatigue, but I've yet to see that as an issue. Otherwise, the point holds no strength.

But didn't you know, wade isnt a good player, he just plays for stats? Someone like KVH is much, much better than him

Fri Jun 16, 2006 12:13 pm

i like u see any of u doubt wade now.
I believe Gedas said the Heat would not win with how wade is playing?
well go look at the score. Miami is up by 10 and wade has made 2 3's.
technical on shaq and he is smiling!!!hehe
howard gets technical too.
JWill took a stupid 3 attempt but miami has a possible 13pt lead now

What is with you and Keith Van Horn?

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:04 pm

Damn, flagrant on Jerry Stackhouse on Shaq...Shaq wanted to get back at him but Wade held him back. Antoine Walker talked shit to Stackhouse afterwards so he also got a technical. I guess you can look at it both ways, it was easily a flagrant, but i think if it was any light foul, there was almost no way you coulda made sure Shaq didnt outpower you and got the basket, AND the foul.

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:07 pm

Stack should get suspended for next game  Go Heat! (Y)

Nothing. He's just a good example of a bust in this league, and people seem to think he's a good player becuase he has skills , tall and white. If he had a heart he'd be the same as Dirk.

There was nothing wrong with the foul, it was a textbook flagrant foul (if it was live 2001, shaq would be injured for the rest of the game ). How about Miami... Terry is heating up though, but who was saying this isnt a series again?

It was flagrant by the looks, but that was probably the only way to make sure it wasnt anything light to prevent the basket.

On a side note, lol at the timing of the ABC finals ad when going to a commercial break, where the players are passing the ball to each other from screen to screen, Shaq starts, says something, then passes to of all people, Stackhouse.

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:12 pm

Yourrrrrrrrrr Miami Heaaaaaat have just made this a series, folks. :) Dwyane Wade is having another Jordanesque game and everyone's stepping up for the Heat. How about Zo's presence tonight?

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:23 pm

Dont speak too soon 3d, its only an 11 point lead.

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:26 pm

Yes..."jordanesque" just cause he's scoring alot of points. Heaven knows jordan is the only man in nba history to do this...so by all means...he's the next jordan.

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:37 pm

geez shaq would have gotten suspended if wade didnt hold him down.
stackhouse would seriously end up with more than a bloody nose this time if shaq was released. but then again his wife, mom, and bio dad was there. shaq is owning on his free throws though.yay!!!!!
nowitzki is having a horrible night now 2-13 right?? and he twisted his ankle a bit on his last shot.
shaq got a offensive board and gave an nice no look pass to posey.ownage!!!!!

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:52 pm

Wow, Wade is really good. I was underrating him.

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:52 pm

22point lead for the heat with 3:38 left can we say series tied and momentum still wit the heat

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:54 pm

u most certainly can!!!!!
u can say homecourt advantage really does matter.
i wish they will sub haslem in and let him take as many shots as he wants and maybe let shaq take a 3
haha at the end of the game, the woman asked shaq wht he said to posey after shaq threw him a no look pass and posey got fouled.
quote: "I said you're messing up my highlights."

I don't believe that's the actual root to the comparison. It's Wade's perseverence, will to win, and desire to put the Heat on his back, along with his ability to do so, which leads to the Jordan comparison.

miami really closed on nowitzki as he shot 2-14 or was it 15?
they started with shaq getting a possible 3pt play and dwade getting his 3pt play right after.

I still go with Dallas in 6. Today something was wrong with the Mavs, they lost not because of the Heat performance, but because of their own performance. They missed a loud of open shots, it was just pathetic really. I still hate that one-on-one play that Heat prefers, I like the teamwork by Dallas, I laugh at the Jordan comparision. Wade is nothing more than Francis no. 2, just younger, maybe more explosive on offense. Anyways, I bet there's something going on at the Mavs, I saw (I think) Dirk arguing with Johnson a few times, also with other players. The best Miami can do is get game 5 and then lose the next two games in Dallas. They'll defenetely won't win there.
Wade=Francis

Francis can barely get it done in the regular season and barely can find a team. Wade is gettin it done on the highest of stages and you say he is the equivalent of Francis? Come on at least compare him to someone with some success.

I'm comparing playing styles. And I said that Wade is more explosive on offense (maybe more egoistic? :D ). And Francis stats ain't much worse than Wades, he even got more rebounds and assists (!) .
Anyways, Mavs in 6.
