Mourning could announce as early as today that he'll sign a 4-year, $20 million contract with the Nets.
seems like next year lakers and nets meet in the finals...a 4 year contract with zo is great for nets (why wouldnt sixers try get him

Maybe now people see why I said Kidd will attract people to come play with him if he stays here...

That is why Kidd will never get an NBA title. No offense to the Nets but there is no way they can match up with the Lakers next year. Zo is rusty after the long time-off, I don't see him doing too well this season. I don't see him doing well at all against Shaq. Also Kidd matching up with Payton will be close, but Kidd will take that match up. Anyway, don't really need to explain the rest. All I gotta say is, you will see Kobe stepping all over Richard Jefferson or whoever's guarding him. There's your series right there. If Kidd would be smarter, he could've gotten Alonzo in San Antonio with him. He would've gotten the best team he's ever been on. A team that can match up well against the Lakers. Oh well, it's his life, his decision.

I'm happy for the Nets. I knew they were going to do anything to make Kidd stay in town. Even I'm not a Nets' fan but at least I'd prefer to see Kidd there than somewhere else,

True, next year might belong to the Lakers but that team the Nets are getting will stay at the top for the season after next one, when Malone will not be a real factor since he might retire soon. That team is going to be in the next 3-4 Finals if they are healthy.

This is going to be interesting to see what the Spurs do now that Kidd has committed himself to the Nets. Maybe they'll submit an offer to Elton Brand even though he's restricted now, since O'Neal and Kidd opted to stay at home. The Nets should be pretty good next year, it's already shaping up to be an interesting season...and it hasn't even started. I wonder what Jason Kidd the Estonian has to say about this...

Great news for the Nets, which could turn sour at any moment. Let's just hope all goes well for Zo this time and the Nets will be looking mighty nice in the East next year. If Mutombo can get healthy that would be a great rotation at centre/power forward. Looks like another return to the Finals for Kidd and Co.
I think the Spurs last hope is to sign Olowokandi. He is really all that is going to be left of the big names. Certainly not what they were expecting, I think they were pretty sure of themselves on getting either Kidd or O'Neal. I don't think the Clips will let Brand go, in fact I think he will be the only guy they won't let go. So I think the best the Spurs can do is get Olowokandi and hope he learns how to play consistently alongside Duncan.

Great news for the Nets, already the top team in the East the past two seasons. A reunion of the M&Ms should give the Nets two great defensive players in the paint, even if they're past their prime.
