Rookie of the Year 07

Tue May 30, 2006 4:59 pm

I know its before the new season and draft but I'm just too excited about the draft

Tue May 30, 2006 5:03 pm

You left Rudy Gay off of the list? What the...

Tue May 30, 2006 5:15 pm

Cheap.
Should of made an "Other" option.
Hard to decide cause don't know what team there on till draft.

Yeah, I dont think any of those guys will win the ROY but Morrison could be in it depending on his situation the rest are mostly projects.

i dont think you can pick it right now, probably best till they actually have the draft, see where each player goes

Tue May 30, 2006 10:52 pm

I picked Morrison only because you didn't include 'other' in the options....of the 4 listed, the only 2 that I could see winning it would be Morrison or Aldridge, depending on what situation they land in....

of the others, if he's a starting SG then Brandon Roy could win it in a weak top-heavy class....even a guy like J.J. Redick could win it if he started for say Orlando as SG & was the team's 3rd option....

as can be seen, it's very wide open & as Fitzy said, we need to see where the guys end up before making a pick....let's just say, it ain't as straight-cut as it was last year when every knowledgeable fan made the easy pick with Chris Paul winning ROY straight after he was drafted....

wtf no brandon roy either?

Things like these are impossible to pick until the preseason.

This time last year, everyone was hyped up about how Marvin Williams was incredibly talented and a favorite to win Rookie of the Year, but he was pretty much a non-contender in the race.

I think Rudy Gay

Wed May 31, 2006 8:05 am

Im thinkin morrison, i'm hopin Roy

Wed May 31, 2006 2:18 pm

I think, for some odd reason, the rookie of the year will be someone drafted outside of the fifth pick (Reddick, Foye, etc.).

Foye's is most likely going 5 actully. Atlanta is said to have realllly liked him and they are leaning toward his direction.

It depends on the team they're playing on. I think it will be either Morrison, Thomas or Aldridge as I doubt that Bargnani will have a strong impact from the beginning.

There should at least be an option for 'Other'.

I mean, of course J.J. Redick will win it.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 3:01 pm

I voted for Alridge..

Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:51 pm

Roy for ROY.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 11:58 pm

problaby Redick

Mon Jun 05, 2006 12:06 am

Rudy Gay will take that

Mon Jun 05, 2006 4:22 am

Probably Morrison

Wed Jun 07, 2006 6:16 pm

You definitely need an 'Other' option. Roy Williams will take it, quote me on it.

Wed Jun 07, 2006 7:59 pm

i dont see the Morrison hype. Aldridge or Thomas for me.

If they go pick Foye I would seriously go and piss on the Atlanta organisation.

I mean seriously If they don't take Williams I will honestly go and piss on them.

Roy Williams is the UNC head coach. I kinda doubt he's going to run the court, drain 3s all day and dunk on 7 footers for 82 games.

On topic: Adam Morrison, if put in a position where he can contribute immediatelly. Imagine him on a healthy Charlotte team, with Felton throwing him the ball, Wallace's athleticism being his complement and the trio of Brezec, Okafor and May manning the post. I can't see Brandon Roy winning it, though. Sure, he is an all-around player, but he doesn't excell at anything he does. He's not going to score big time, he's not going to run the team or be the best defender. Rudy Gay could explode in CV manner, Aldridge could do his best at imitating Frye and Marcus Williams should also do all right. So my pick are: Marcus Williams/Adam Morrison.

Wed Jun 07, 2006 8:36 pm

My picks: either Marcus Williams (most NBA-ready) or Aldridge.
Morrison can't play in the NBA like he did in college, Roy won't get it cause defense simply doesn't get you the ROY, Rudy Gay isn't ready yet, Redick.. nevermind ready, he shouldn't even be mentioned in here.

people like Morrison because he seems to be a retro, old-school type player....he's an absolute beast on offense & can score from anywhere....he wears old school socks, has a mullet & dodgey mo'....also, he plays no defense....he's definitely old-school :P
