It's inevitable, Miami and Dallas will meet in the finals. I can't wait for that matchup.

Don't say it's over for Pistons. They have pretty good chances go to the final. I think Pistons will win Game 5 and Game 6 will be decisive.
But I want Heat - Mavs final

But you never know Detroit could come back

.But it wont

wow, shaq can definitely handle the ball for a big man. he was running the court like a point guard, and he had total control of the ball.
go miami!

Pistons win
Game 5, now lets see some momentum run into Miami
If anybody can do it, they can...Let's Go Motown Boyz!!!

I had a feeling Detroit wasn't about to quietly into the night. They came to play, Miami couldn't get the job done. But just as I'm not about to count out the Pistons I don't think a successful comeback is a given either, even with Detroit's recent record of beating the odds in elimination games.
The Heat need to get the ball into Shaq more frequently and much earlier. They've been doing that the last couple of games and it's worked out for them. Walker also reverted to some of his old habits, including that "Sure, I'm 30+ feet out but I am open, might as well take it" attempt that missed. His pull-up three on the fast break was ill-advised but it's one of those shots that can be excused when it goes in.

Another problem is the Heat's freethrows. They lost by 13 by missing 14 freethrows? What the?
But yeah, good execution should still the main focus. Detroit was great from both ends of the court. Their aggressiveness also gave them more freethrow attempts unlike in game 4.
For the Heat, I guess it's really hard to focus on your FT's if the opponent is getting what he wants on offense and you're having a tough time executing. Add to that the way the crowd disturbs you while you're already desperate to make freethrows.

No question, 6/20 from the foul line is simply abysmal, not that much better than their percentage from downtown. Wade has to get to the line for more than three freebies in Game 6.

IMO, game 5 was the best game the Pistons have played since the beginning of the Cavs series. The only downfall was their 3-point shooting... 0-5 at halftime, and something like 2-14 at the end of the game maybe? I was a little disappointed during a stretch of 2-3 minutes in the second half, when they pulled up for a trey three possessions in a row... they played excellent when they actually moved the ball around and got inside the paint. All in all, I was still pretty surprised it was such a close game (until the last minute or two it was a 2-3 possession game) given how well Detroit played. Winning two more is definitely not an easy task, especially with Friday's game in Miami. But I strongly believe that Miami can not win a game 7 in Detroit... so they better get the job done tomorrow.
I'm still very disappointed with Rasheed - I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to put him on the trading block this summer, but he needs to be put in his place if he's staying here. I don't know how, but Flip really needs to take control of him... as soon as Sheed opened his mouth in the Cleveland series, he (and the Pistons) have been playing awful. Of course, all will be forgiven if he steps it up in game 6 and 7 and helps win the series
Oh, and did anyone see Ben Wallace's block on Shaq? In all my years of watching the NBA, I don't remember anybody ever sending Shaq down so cleanly as Ben did. Shaq's comments after game were funny: "You know that was a foul, young lady... don't ask dumb questions."

this series is right on track for the 4-2 win by the Heat that I predicted
let's hope that the Heat can wrap this one back home & then lose to the West in the Final

If the Pistons win Game 6 (which they have a fair chance of doing), then they won't be losing this series. It'll be almost the same as the previous Cavs series, except that the Pistons would have a two-game winning streak, instead of just one. With momentum like that, and playing at the Palace, they're almost unbeatable.
All of this, of course, depends on if the Pistons can win on the road.

I agree...the heat have to close them out in the next game or it's over just like it was for the cavs. The piss-tons even in turmoil are a formidable team....it's unreal.
Fri Jun 02, 2006 7:07 am
detroit has the DPOY + 2 members of the nba all defensive 2nd team... and still Wade was averaging 30ppg on almost 70% shooting heading into last night's game
Hinirch was robbed
Fri Jun 02, 2006 8:24 pm
heat close it out in 6??? if wade gets 30plus again and heat hit their free throws count on it
Sat Jun 03, 2006 11:25 am
Pistons defense is ABSOLUTELY PITIFUL........nice time to let Jason Williams start scoring

And the offense even worse.
Where is Rasheed Wallace btw?
Sat Jun 03, 2006 12:06 pm

GO HEAT! Daddy has saved his best but should have more left whoever they play from the West. Was hoping D Wade would do a MJ since he had the flu but doesnt matter. Also looks like Rasheed is going to be shipped off what an awful playoffs he had.
