isn't "Clyde" a playground name?!? I recall seeing something that mentioned how guys like Earl "The Pearl" Monroe got nicknames like "Black Jesus" when they returned to the playground in the off-season & lit it up....

as for Walt Frazier, the "Clyde"could refer to that he's like a Clydesdale horse?!? for some reason that's what I think or heard....seems very strange though :? so I definitely could be wrong....

One more:
Chris Kaman – “Horror Show”: Have you seen this guy’s mug yet? If the basketball career doesn’t work out, you’re a dead ringer for every last slasher movie that’s ever to come out.

I'm suprised God Shammgod hasn't been said.

Drafted by the Washington Wizards in the 2nd round (17th pick) of the 1997 NBA draft.

i always thought Walt Frazier got the nickname due to his cool, personnel style on and off the court. the dude would wear these pimped out outfits hehe

Well since the nickname isn't "Big Chink" or "Slopehead from Mars" I'm guessing it wasn't.

That's like the greatest name ever to play the game of basketball. Unlike Rick Brunson who's name fits his sucky game perfectly.

I remember a player named Honeycutt. That's a cool name too  Kobe Bryant got his first name from a stake. Joe "Jellybean" Bryant is a cool name as well.

Jamaal "Mel Mel The Abuser" Tinsley

This is also one of the best I've seen in a while.

Moses Malone must have had a hard time too, Im sure its hard to have a name like Moses as your first name as somewhat seen in He Got Game with Jesus Shuttlesworth it can become frustrating and embarassing to that person and open up for plenty of name calling though I love the explanation Jake (Denzel) gives on why he named his son (Ray) Jesus.

Yea that's the guy.

I agree on the Jesus/Moses thingy, I wonder how so many spanish people name their sons Jesus. Weird. It's like giving your son the first name "god"

I've heard that too, that his demeanour and taste in fashion earned the moniker taken from Clyde of "Bonnie and Clyde" fame.

Bob Bigelow
Otis Birdsong
Uwe Blab
Dexter Boney
Woody Sauldsberry

Just a few that I found at http://www.databasebasketball.com. It's a really useful site with pretty much EVERY NBA player even if they didn't play any games.
