Where's KG? And Shaq more important this season than Ben Wallace? Heck, I wouldn't even pick him over Yao (they both played almoust the same number of games).
Thu May 18, 2006 5:41 am
Sounds about right - Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had pretty good
seasons but were overshadowed by a lot of the players on the list
who had career years (Bryant, Brand, Carmelo).
Thu May 18, 2006 5:47 am
The fact that Carmelo Anthony made the team over Kevin Garnett boggles my mind.
It's funny how people say Steve Nash has nothing to work with and that he is the MVP because he has a team filled with role players then they turn around and vote Shawn Marion for All-NBA team.
How the fuck did Tim Duncan make it over Kevin Garnett? I guess 18.6ppg,11rpg and 3.6apg is better than 22ppg, 12.7rpg and 4.1apg. And don't you even dare use the team agrument because this is suppose to be about the best players, not the best players on good teams. Yao Ming makes it and his team is bad and same with Allen Iverson.
It pisses me off that people think Kevin Garnett has dropped off so much. 22ppg,13rpg and 4apg is a pretty damn good season.

Kevin seems to get overlooked more often than not, unfortunately.
I'll tell you this, though.. if KG gets traded out of Minnesota
he will no longer be overlooked. Minnesota is
holding him back.
I hate Carmelo so I wouldn't agree putting him on any team in the first place.
Thu May 18, 2006 6:01 am
what the hell? AI on the third team....should have been on 2nd team....
Not very good voting.......Duncan over KG is bullshit..sure Duncan is lighting up Dallas right now but hes dropped significantly this year...
Thu May 18, 2006 6:04 am
Garnett led the league in rebounding and efficiency along with posting 4apg and 22ppg. He was on a bad team, so what? So was Yao Ming and Allen Iverson. Garnett had an amazing season and the fact that he got robbed is a disgrace.
Garnett was 3rd in Defensive Player of the Year voting too, wasn't he? I don't understand how Garnett is on the top of almost every category and then is left off the All-NBA teams. What the fuck did Tim Duncan do? There is no reason why Duncan should be in front of Shawn Marion, Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony. If anything, Duncan should have been left off.

duncan = 1st in the west. duncan = reigning playoff mvp and champion. duncan = the greatest player of his generation. It would be an atrocity if duncan were anything less than second team imo... even on a bum season. duncan should've been shifted to C on the second team, and ben wallace ommitted to make room for kg.

maybe move duncan to 2nd team C, but put ben wallace at 3rd team C. yao didnt play enough games for him to be on the team.

SHAQ!!!

what a joke, that spot should have been Ben Wallace's

Agreed
Thu May 18, 2006 6:34 am
thats true, probably better to cut yao out then ben.
Thu May 18, 2006 6:39 am
Sorry magius, for some reason I was under the impression that the 2005-2005 All-NBA Teams were for the best players of the season, not career.
Even so, Garnett should be on it. How can you leave the 03-04 MVP and a future hall of famer off the All-NBA team?

yup and he led his team to the west's best regular season record.
this is true, kg should be on it. I dispute the fact that td shouldn't be in favor of kg though. kg should be on it over yao, and possibly melo or ben imo.
Thu May 18, 2006 7:07 am
what about JO?
Thu May 18, 2006 7:35 am
jerry wrote:what about JO?
he didnt make it maybe because he missed 31 games this regular season....
nonetheless, the voters screwed up.
Thu May 18, 2006 7:41 am
I'm surprised Shaq got 1st team. Reputation? Oh well.
Everybody else on first team was pretty much expected. A bit surprised KG isnt there but I'll get over it.
Thu May 18, 2006 8:55 am
Very good Carmelo :applause:
Yes, I'm so glad that KG didn't make it!!!

Is it because he has you and your sorry franchise's number?
Thu May 18, 2006 9:12 am
Where's RAY ALLEN! he had a great career year and he broke the damn 3pt record for 1 season, and i also think KG should be on there, the big question is, who do you take off....
Kyle Korve should have made 1st team, he'd have 40ppg if iverson wasnt on the sixers, lol....
Thu May 18, 2006 9:27 am
Kyle Korver?
And Vince Carter will learn to pass and not force a shot before that happens.
Thu May 18, 2006 10:43 am
Hmm, I think everyone knows how I feel about the C position.
Thu May 18, 2006 10:55 am
I fail to understand how LeBron and Kobe can get more first team votes than Nash and yet Nash still wins the MVP...The media sucks....

SilasDC wrote:Where's RAY ALLEN!
It would be pretty tough for him to make it over any of those guards selected.
Kobe
Chauncey
Gilbert
Steve
Wade
Iverson
Take a pick...
Very strong field. His best chance would be over Gilbert since many people dont give him alot of credit for his play but his team went to the playoffs.
Thu May 18, 2006 12:49 pm
Biggest surprises are Melo and 3 genuine centers being there. The Media don't know anything about the NBA. Carter should of been there. KG too. Should of been only one genuine center there and only on the 3rd team. A.I shouldn't of been there as well.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, who votes for the NBA teams and who votes for the MVP?
IMO, Duncan should start calling himself a center.
