Kobe didn't deserve it and IMO, the players who are deserving but there just isn't enough place for them: Hassell, Ross, Hinrich, Gerald Wallace, Sheed, Terry.

I'm really satisfied with this year's first team selections, but I'm annoyed that Kobe got it while Gerald Wallace missed out completely.

Fri May 12, 2006 5:06 am

JASON FUCKING KIDD!!!! all is right in the world again.

LeBron James, Cleveland, 2

wow, pretty sure whoever gave this guy a vote was the same jackass that gave deron williams a first place vote for ROTY

Fri May 12, 2006 5:16 am

As a Kobe fan, I am really surprise he got onto the First Team list...
But well, he didn't get the MVP... so he should get something else

Fri May 12, 2006 5:52 am

Where's Gerald Wallace? I know he's been injured a for a good portion of the season, but his defensive numbers are too impressive to leave off the first team. Thats probably my only complaint though.

Fri May 12, 2006 7:54 am

I'm surprised and happy Kobe got it. :)

So there were 6 selections to the first team. Sounds wierd in a way.

Fri May 12, 2006 7:56 am

Nice, Camby made the all defensive team despite having thouse injuries!

Fri May 12, 2006 8:01 am

Got to agree with Its_adsf, Gerald Wallace put up really impressive numbers. But I think it's due to his injury he was left out of (at least) the second team. Putting Kobe on the first team is questionable for me, he can play great defense but I think guys like Gerald, D. Howard or Kevin Garnett would have been a better choice for team 1.

Fri May 12, 2006 8:05 am

LOL wtf-

lebron James & Gilbert Arenas both received a FIRST PLACE vote

i think the last 2 for the 1st all defensive team made it in by reputation (N)

Fri May 12, 2006 8:15 am

Man i think player should vote on this, that way it wouldnt be tilted, or at least coaches should vote, that way we know who is really the best. I'm not sure if Kobe deserved it over somebody like Shaq or Gerald Wallace or Treton Hassel

Fri May 12, 2006 11:37 am

...Shaq and all of his 1.76 blocks and .39 steals per game.
Hardly impressive for a centre. Even Samuel Dalembert, who plays less minutes, can do better than that (2.42 blks, .52 stls).
Even Alonzo (20 mpg, 2.66 blks).

Fri May 12, 2006 11:44 am

Wow. Gerald Wallace should atleast be on the second team, if not first, even with the injuries.

i think the last 2 for the 1st all defensive team made it in by reputation (N)

Kobe, probably.

Kidd, no way. He's still got it. :D

Hahaha, just eariler this week, one of my friends was saying how Kobe is terrible at defence now that he scored 35 PPG in the season, and probably won't ever even get on the 2nd team again. He's probably swearing right now.

Fri May 12, 2006 12:28 pm

at least coaches should vote

this is a coaches vote

haha, someone gave Pau Gasol a vote....good to see those 3 Pistons on the team again. 8-)

Fri May 12, 2006 12:39 pm

The first thing I did was to see if Lebron got any votes......wow
How come gerald Wallace didnt make it? despite his injury he was considered a candidate of DPOY, then how come he missed out completely?

Fri May 12, 2006 1:06 pm

haha jason kidd makes it well done to him

Fri May 12, 2006 1:35 pm

I think Gerald Wallace and Shawn Marion should have been on one of the two teams.

Quinton Ross should be on second team over Billups.

Fri May 12, 2006 2:03 pm

not 1 damn knick.. shame shame.. even mike james got a vote

Fri May 12, 2006 3:59 pm

why would the Knicks have anyone get a vote.

even Tony Parker got a vote, totally odd.

Fri May 12, 2006 5:15 pm

Im happy for Kobe, but i admit certain players deserve the award more than him.

Yes, Kobe is a great defender when the occasion calls for it but this season Phil Jackson has put him into a "rover" role. He roams around and is not tasked to lock down anyone in particular.

Kobe got reputation votes, very soon guys like Gerald Wallace will be getting those reputation votes. they just need to establish their defensive reputation.

Fri May 12, 2006 5:46 pm

It's weird that Nash didn't get a vote. He should leave Diaw and Barbosa alone and start making his defense better.

Fri May 12, 2006 5:49 pm

He's as confused as you

Fri May 12, 2006 6:01 pm

1- How the fuck didnt Gerald Wallace get in at least the 2nd team??

2- How did LeBron get a vote??

Fri May 12, 2006 6:11 pm

Priceless!

I can't see why Gerald Wallace didn't make any of the two teams. Injury is no excuse, really.

Fri May 12, 2006 6:12 pm

How is it weird that Nash did not get a vote? That's like saying it's weird that Lamar Odom did not get a vote for mvp.

Fri May 12, 2006 7:37 pm

I think G Wallace & Marion should've made it... Kidd, Kobe & Chauncey are definitely head-stratchers for me

Brand should've been up there too
