wrong forum. should be in nba talk.

but I think if they Pistons don't lose much more and then win the finals this would be our best season.

Thu Feb 23, 2006 10:23 pm

the Lakers had a lot of good seasons under Pat Riley during the Showtime era..consistent 50+ win team. they also had a 67-15 record during the 1999-2000 season=the 1st of the 3peat

Thu Feb 23, 2006 10:26 pm

Good post, but I think New Orleans/Charlottes best season was in 2001 when they were one game away from the conference finals. In 97 they were swept out of the playoffs.

Toronto Raptors
2000-01 47 35

Sun May 07, 2006 3:17 pm

why didnt you pick the 94 or 95 Rockets....they won the champ. the 97 team didnt.

Sun May 07, 2006 3:35 pm

I'd say this season could turn out to be the Mavericks' finest, also I'd rate this season better than last year for the Clippers, seeing as though it's their best record since they were the Buffalo Braves, slightly ahead of their 1992 season.

Sun May 07, 2006 5:30 pm

nothing really compares to the Bulls season, the best record in history and they had so many great players. Everything fell together that year. They're better than the Mariners 116 win season in 2001 (after the 9/11 break they were never the same which is why they ended up losing in the playoffs).....

IMO the 72-10 bulls are the best team in history besides maybe the undefeated miami dolphins. You just cant top the ability of that team. Pippen was probably one of the top 5 Guys in the NBA at that time, and then Jordan was obviously number 1.

Sun May 07, 2006 7:34 pm

What do you think is the best season for these teams?

Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Bobcats
Dallas Mavericks
Cleveland Cavaliers
Denver Nuggets
Golden State Warriors
Indiana Pacers
L.A. Clippers
Memphis Grizzlies
Miami Heat
Milwaukee Bucks
Minnesota Timberwolves
New Jersey Nets
New Orleans
New Yorks Knicks
Orlando Magic
Phoenix Suns
Portland Trailblazers
Sacramento Kings
San Antonio Spurs
Seattle Supersonics
Toronto Raptors
Utah Jazz
Washington Wizards

Help me on this guys... I need more ideas. I wanna make a roster that are composed of the best season for each team.

Ah ok. I'll do mine:
Atlanta: 87/88. This team pushed pushed the celtics to 7 games in the conference semis.

Cavs: 1992. Conference finalists and won a couple of games against the bulls
Denver: 1994. Team full of characters that were one game away from the conference finals
Golden State: 1975, their championship season
Indiana: 2000, their nba finalist season with miller, rose, Dale davis all playing at a high level.
Clippers: This season

Atlanta Hawks - 1987/88 - 50 wins, one game from the ECF
Charlotte Bobcats - take your pick
Dallas Mavericks - I said this year in my earlier post, but I guess you could go for 2002/03 as well
Cleveland Cavaliers - 1991/92, 57 wins and ECF appearance
Denver Nuggets - 1982/83 - the top two scorers in the league, 45-37 record, made it to the second round
Golden State Warriors - 1974/75
Indiana Pacers - 1999/00
L.A. Clippers - This season
Memphis Grizzlies - This season
Miami Heat - Last season
Milwaukee Bucks - 1970/71, the championship year with Kareem
Minnesota Timberwolves - 2003/04, WCF appearance
New Jersey Nets - 2002/03
New Orleans - 2000/01
New Yorks Knicks - 1969/70 - taking the title, Willis Reed's memorable moment, beating the Lakers' Big Three
Orlando Magic - 1994/95 - NBA Finals appearance in only their second playoff run
Phoenix Suns - 1992/93. 62 wins and an NBA Finals appearance
Portland Trailblazers - 1991/92, NBA Finals appearance, 57 wins
Sacramento Kings - 2001/02
San Antonio Spurs - 2002/03
Seattle Supersonics - 1995/96, 64 wins, NBA Finals appearance, starting lineup all averaging double digits in scoring
Toronto Raptors - 2000/01
Utah Jazz - 1997/98
Washington Wizards - 1977/78. Went 44-38 but ended up winning the championship in 7 games, beating two 50+ win teams on the way.

more to add on to the 1995-1996 chicago team, although it may be a bit obvious

- jordan/pippen made the all-nba first team
- jordan won all star game mvp, regular season mvp, finals mvp (he did this once more in 1998)

just a great team. i have the dynasty dvd set of the bulls, what they did was remarkable. i can't believe they got 72-10 with a bench like theirs, lol

Mon May 08, 2006 5:57 pm

Toronto 2000-2001... man I loved that season. Carter fluked the last shot on Philly so nothing has changed  and what about Lakers' playoff run? Lost only one game, against Philly in the phinals :P

Tue May 16, 2006 12:12 pm

@Andrew -- Where can i get those roster? :D

The Pacers best season was 97-98.

We were good in 2000, but that was by far the most fun I've ever had watching the Pacers that year. We almost knocked off the Bulls in the ECF, and we're the toughest playoff test the bulls championship teams ever faced.

Tue May 16, 2006 10:17 pm

Jae, i checked out the site and it helped me a lot but it doesn't show whose who on what position, jersey number and the rest. Anyways thanks for the help.

Yeah. That was an awesome series.

IMO i think Chicago's best team was the 91-92 team (the 2nd Championship team in the first 3-peat)

after winning their first title, the team came back even more assertive and mentally tough. Jordan, Pip, and Grant were still young and the best athletes in their respective positions. They had that killer doberman defense and one of the best, if not the best, transition offenses in the league. Cartwright was old but he always received the benefit of the calls with those sharp elbows.

that team had a great combination of athleticism, youth, skill, and smarts.

1995-96 Bulls Season, I think it was the best in the actual era...
Maybe Bill Russell and the Celtics in the 60's had better seasons.
