Series Page: Detroit vs Cleveland

Postby Matt on Sat May 06, 2006 2:01 pm

alright it's settled.

Detroit will win 4-1.....Cleveland will see what the meaning of defense is & Rasheed will own whatever fruitcake Cleveland sends his way.

The only advantage Cleveland have is @SF.

you think the cavs will get 1 game?

the pistons were in cruise control in the first round and let one game slip out of their hands. Pistons 4-0, pistons are just too good.
This sig was too offensive for the kids.

you never know, if the series get refs that can't distinguish 2 from 4 then when knows what will happen.

For some reason, the Pistons seem to always have a hard time against Lebron and the Cavs... I can't see Detroit losing this series but I won't be surprised if it goes to 6 or 7.

Cavs won once, in December. We won the last 3 games. Prince always gives James a tough time, keeping him to under 30 points in all the games except the loss, where he scored 30. James wont be able to score 36 a game like he did against Wizards, and Detroit will win in 4.

Ben wallace averages like 57 rebounds against Cavs this year anyway

If lebron wins this series, he might be inducted into the hall of fame this early.

With the supporting cast Lebron has, I can easily see a sweep for them.

2005/06 Playoff stats:
Ilgauskas: 10.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.5bpg.
Hughes: 13ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.4apg.

At least Varejao and Gooden rebound well and Marshall provides a nice scoring punch off the bench. I wouldn't be surprised if I see half of this team traded, though (Z to Memphis for Eddie Jones anyone?).

I've got the Cavaliers taking one game in the series on their home floor, maybe two at the most. I'm not sold on this one going any further than that or the Cavaliers prevailing, anything's possible but that just seems too unlikely at this point. That said, the Pistons are a great team but they're not invincible. The Bucks' lone win in the first round was legitimate and the Cavaliers should avoid the sweep. But if Detroit will bow out of the Playoffs without a championship, I don't see it happening this early.

Detroit 4-2....Lebron earns 2 himself....I predict Z helps them in this series & Damon Jones get a little bit more burn....

yes..cause the only way they could win is if its cause of the refs. The refs dont make any bad calls against the cavs...only against other teams.

heh..this guy makes me laugh :)

...in either case..Cavs loose in 5 or 6. Like how they whopped the wizard's ass...and not too many people have much to say about it cause they're pissed. Now detroit will show the cavs what they need to develop to become a true contender in this league..and to be respected. I figure they did well enough by passing the first round against a more experienced team

Cavs get bad calls against them, but in the Washington series, at the most crucial of times it was Washington who had shitty calls go against them. It wasn't some 1st quarter travel....it was a play that ended the game....a very blatant call at that.

Detroit in 5.

The Cavs are good, but they had trouble with Arenas last round and he is a scoring guard. Chauncey can put up 30pts and dish out 8-10asts, getting the rest of the team involved. Rip will own Hughes off the ball. Tayshaun versus LeBron is gonna be great, i think Bron is gonna get his points but hes gonna get them kobe-esqu with 25 shots and like 8 makes. His assists are gonna be down because he cant create for his team mates when he gets in the paint because for other teams they need 3 guys to stop him....we have ben and/or sheed so thats one less opening he's gonna have. Ilgauskas is gonna get raped on the boards and if we get out on 3pt shooters this should be real easy to win.

How many points did you score?

Common sense says Bron is the best player in this series, but Billups has played just as well (26.1 PER vs. 26.0 PER) in the first round. Pistons have the next two best players (McDyess and Sheed) in the playoffs so far, then it's Gooden and then Rip.

Ben Wallace has been terrible in the playoffs, but Hughes has been even worse.

Like the start of the regular season the Pistons were the best offense in the first round, Cavs were lucky in the first round, Washington outscored them.

I said Pistons in 4 in Pick n' Roll, I will keep it.
Z to Memphis for Eddie Jones anyone?

Ew ew ew ew ew ew. That idea makes my brain vomit.
