Almost all of them haven't signed an agent and can pull out of the draft. Splitter, Thomas, Morrison are some of the people who cant pull out.

Hopefully Noah declares, for the sake of a strong draft.

He has already said he wont declare. But ya never know. :o

He can't declare now, the deadline for underclassman to declare has passed up. So he has to stay in college now. Good thing too, loyal to his team.

Ah it has too. April 29th.

EDIT: Had the 'post relply' screen up for too long  Didn't see ck's post.

But yeh, i remember reading an article saying Noah can still declare even though he has vocally said he wont. I guess the article was written before April 29th.

the question is whether Noah is making a mistake....I think it's admirable him passing up being a Top 3 pick (Y) he could've gone No. 1, that opportunity has passed him as he won't have a chance in future years to go No. 1 (Oden whenever he declares plus others)....

Well, he'll improve his chances of being a solid pick who's actually used a lot if he plays longer. Plus, younger guys in the NBA who were phenomenal early in their college/high school careers often end up plagued with injuries (except Lebron).

Just hope Newley can make it with a team come this off season. Even though he happens to be currently from my home town, Townsville, i would still prefer to see him in the NBA. Good luck to him. Bogut, Schensher, Newley, wouldn't it be great to have 3 established aussies.

perhaps....I hoped that would happen with my man John Wallace....he improved as a player but dropped about 10 spots in one year....I hope Noah does improve his play....and I don't think the injury argument is relevant as it depends on each player....someone like Nova's Jason Fraser was a player with great NBA potential out of high school & early on, but he's knees gave out & so did his career....

Plus I don't think Greg Oden will only stay at Ohio St. for one year, he seems like a smart guy and with the new CBA "2 years in college" is the new "1 year in college"...
Sounds dumb but I mean like what eg. Carmelo has done in the past.

If he's so smart as you're saying he is, he'll leave Ohio St. after his freshman season and take that guaranteed money.

BTW, how is that OJ Mayo is as old as I am, but he's a HS junior and I'm a college freshmen? Doesn't that give him a bit of an advantage over his 'peers'?

OJ was held back a grade or something....has helped him slightly, but it'll catch up to him....he will be 19 when he finishes HS & 20 once he is one year removed from HS....

Ok, so you're not smart. That's the trying-to-be-popular guys' reasoning.

It's not like he's from the ghetto and has to get money ASAP to get him folks out of the struggle. He'll only benefit from an extra year of college and I think he will want to win a championship at Ohio St. too which probably won't happen next year.

And X, Bill Walker > OJ Mayo. :) I hope they'll go to Cinci together though.

Yeah, I just realized that I forgot how Americans switch the numbers for month and day in the month. Mayo was born on 5th of November 1987, so he's nine months younger than me, but still. A lot of college freshmen are as old as he is. That's a HUGE advantage. BTW, Oak Hill didn't want him because of the recent suspension from his HS due to behavioural issues (he allegedly had a fight).

Edit: if Oden's smart, he'll skip his remaining years of eligibilty, because of all the risks. Why if he injures himself, if he gets diagnosed with a disease that will prevent him from playing basketball, etc.. Risks are all to big.

ck, I don't like the sound of either Walker or Mayo

I'll just be happy to see a guy like Oden come into the league (when he wants to, 1, 2 or 3 years into future) & be the type of big man we haven't seen since the likes of Zo & more recently Duncan entered the league....

Also if Noah skips the draft now rather than being ensured as a draft pick and going to a crappy team he might even have the "luck" of falling to mid first round and being a better player guaranteed to be picked by a semi-decent team.

Same risk in his first year, why not commit suicide right now..

Oden says he will stay more than one year in college and I think truly beleive he will. I don't think he will be as skilled if he stays one year and it sounds like he think that he needs to improve his game and that hes not ready for the NBA yet.

yesterday R. Seibutis announsed that he will enter this years draft. He was promised a second round pick in 2007, but he has decided to already come this year.
