I am proud of him and it is very well deserved. He sometimes doesn't get the attention he deserves for the community work he does because he likes to keep it quiet. I'm glad he got this award and he is representing the state and the franchise greatly. The man is great.

Congrats, Ticket.

Congrats to Mr. Garnett.

I think we'll be seeing Martell Webster winning this award soon. The kid has a great attitude and personality- he's everywhere, and always with a smile.

I'm happy for him but I can't wait to see him leave Minnesota town.

No I think Jacque Vaughn was going for the NBA Sportmanship Award, which I think is named after Joe Dumars?

Why? I love it how everyone rips guys like Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and Baron Davis for asking out of their cities because they are losing. Then on the flip side, they say they can't wait for guys like Kevin Garnett and Allen Iverson to demand to be traded because they are losing. Garnett and Iverson are great for the NBA and they are showing their loyalty and passion for their cities. Why do you want them to pick it up and leave? I think it would be great to see guys like Garnett and Iverson start and finish their careers in one spot.

Minnesota will get better as a team in the near future, don't worry about that. But even if Garnett doesn't win a ring here in his career it does not hurt his legacy. He will still go down as one of the best players of all time and his name will put next to Kirby Puckett in terms of great Minnesota sports heros. Having a ring means you were the best that year, it does not limit or restrict what you did over your career. There are plenty of great players who have never won a championship ring in their careers but that doesn't mean they aren't special players. I think what Kevin Garnett is doing in Minnesota and what Allen Iverson is doing in Philadelphia is great and we shouldn't be encouraging them to change.

Garnett will not ask to be traded and the team will not trade him. You'll be waiting for a long, long time. Garnett struggles with change and he has said that all these new players and coaches are taking a toll on him. Do you really think he is ready to handle leaving Minnesota, the only place he knows and loves in his NBA life? He would consider himself a coward if he left Minnesota like this. It frustrates me when people say he should pack it up and leave when that is excatly what we are trying to get away from in professional sports.

If Garnett doesn't get traded, they're certainly going to build around him better. Stephon might come in seeing as how all of New York hates him, and Hakim Warrick will become better. First step though- please please please replace Terry Stotts. Not playing Garnett at the end of the season despite everything he's given them? Pathetic.

Great for Garnett. At least he wins something with Minnesota being so bad.

1. Wolves don't have Hakim Warrick

2. Terry Stotts is not the Wolves coach

Garnett deserves this award......giving 1.2 million to katrina sealed this in my mind.

as for the state of minnesota, i think they are going in one of two directions. one being trying to rebound and become a contender (aka trade for iverson) or they will rebuild and trade away there star players.

either way, i dont think the wolves second best player (ricky davis) will wear a minnesota uniform next year.

What does that have anything to do with the community? Plus, he didn't throw it at the fan, he threw the ball and it hit a fan. There is a difference.

just like when george bush dropped a bomb and it just so happened to kill someone. :D

sorry, couldn't resist, only joking. i love america.

kg should stay in minny for at least a bit longer, he's still in his prime. If he hasn't won it towards the latter end of his career (which i don't think he will in minny) he can pull a steve smith.

Are you guys doing this on purpose so I freak out? If so, stop it!

What does punching someone on the basketball court have anything to do with the work you do in the community? So Garnett has punched out two ex-teammates, big deal. Believe it or not, there are worse things going on than that. Like Hurricane Katrina, which Garnett donated over $1.2 million for out of his own pocket. Those things matter. Punching out a player that was being a bitch? Doesn't matter.

Yes...the members of the forum all came together in a secret meeting and decided to insult Garnett on the forum JUST to piss you off. You...the one and only Kevin Garnett fan on this planet. (y) :)
