Assigning keyboard keys to work with my gamepad?

Hi,
I have a dual action gamepad, however the left analog stick is completely messed, if i use it, it makes my gamepad stop responding and i have to reconnect it to make everything work again. This isnt that big of a problem because i only use it for plays, and i can play the game without calling plays:/
Is there anyway i can just assign like 1, 2, 3, 4 as the play calling buttons? That way i can just not use the left analog and call my plays using the keyboard. I have tried binding the keyboard keys in a profile but they dont respond when im in game

You can't do that.Maybe you should try to buy a new gamepad or something.

yeah buy a new gamepad, hate the keyboard now
