April 3rd, 2006-The Indiana Pacers have been having a quite awkward NBA Season. They are currently 35-37; two game below .500, which is a rarity for the struggling Indiana Pacers. The headline of the season, however, is the aquisition of Forward Peja Stojakovic in exchange for Forward Ron Artest. Peja is currently averaging 19.6 points per game, and having a pretty good year. To start things off, Jermaine O'neal suffered a terrible shoulder injury midway through the season, resulting in 2 months of sitting out, the way they played when O'neal was injured was very impressive, winning 6 of their next 8 games with Peja being their team leader. There have been some signs of stardom from the rookie Danny Granger, selected 17th overall in the 2005 draft by the Pacers. The Pacers are currently holding a playoff spot, and I don't expect them to give it up. Jamaal Tinsley is having a very disappointing season, having only played 38 games, and plagued by injuries. On the other hand, backup point guard Anthony Johnson, is having a great year averaging 9 points per game, a career high. Sarunas Jasikevicius, the international point guard from Maccabi Tel Aviv, is one of the best free throw shooters in the NBA at 90%, which makes the Pacers one of the best free throw shooting team in the NBA, percentage-wise. The free throws aren't enough. The Pacers are currently in the 7th seed, only 2 games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers, and should face a first round elimination to the Miami Heat if they keep playing like this. My final record prediction for the Pacers is 41-41.
This articles is probably crappy because I don't know much about the Indiana Pacers. Any spelling or grammar errors? The articles should be up on my site
www.lipoarticles.com when I have time to submit it.

To be honest, I like the read. Pretty brief.
Errors though:
They are currently 35-37; two game below .500
gameshowever, is the aquisition of Forward Peja Stojakovic...
acquisition
Bah, I'm tired of finding errors. There are a lot of 'comma' errors too.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 5:40 am
I like it but it could be a little longer and a lil more about the other players (i.e Stephen Jackson Scott Pollard etc.)
But good overall 9/10
Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:51 am
two game below .500, which is a rarity for the struggling Indiana Pacers
That's a contradiction.

Forward Peja Stojakovic in exchange for Forward Ron Artest
I wouldn't capitalize 'forward'.
Jermaine O'neal
That's obvious.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:44 am
I don't really see how it's a contradiction.. he's saying it's rare for a currently struggling team to struggle.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:10 am
Are you being serious or sarcastic? I can't tell.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 12:02 pm
Serious, I can't see the contradiction. It'd be a contradiction if he said "the struggling Indiana Pacers have never struggled" but for something to be "rare" doesn't mean it isn't impossible.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 12:37 pm
Nice article. A few spelling and grammar mistakes but I shouldn't be the one telling you since i'm probably worse than you.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 12:48 pm
It's not a HUGE contradiction, but it could be worded better: "a rarity for the normally top-tier Pacers." That kind of thing would suffice.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 2:41 pm
It's way too short and there really isn't too much information. What is the point of the article? I didn't learn anything knew and you really didn't shed your opinion on the state of the team, so what excatly was the whole point of the "article"? If you can even call it that.

Ever heard of paragraphs?
Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:14 pm
That is a contradiction, he's saying:
They're
below .500, which is a
rarity for a
struggling team
where he meant to say it is a rarity for the Pacers, who a struggling, to be below .500.
Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:29 pm
where he meant to say it is a rarity for the Pacers, who a struggling, to be below .500.
... but that's exactly what he said, just worded differently (badly).

Jugs, Im too cool for paragraphs
Riot, it was a request, and I don't know much about the Pacers, so I tried my best.
Version 2:

The Pacers are having a bad season, but what is there to expect when you lose a top forward like Ron Artest for a 1 dimensional shooter in Peja Stojakovic. My final record prediction for the Pacers is 41-41.

Or too stupid for paragraphs.
nbalive744 wrote:two game below .500, which is a rarity for the struggling Indiana Pacers
There's no contradiction in there. He means that being below .500 is a rarity for the often top-tier Pacers who are currently struggling that's why they are below .500.

I guess that's one way to put it.

Wait... but I thought he was just a 1 dimensional shooter that has caused the team to have a rare sub 500 season?
nbalive744 wrote:To start things off, Jermaine O'Neal suffered a terrible shoulder injury midway through the season, resulting in 2 months of sitting out,
Actually its JO's groin that's hurt, shoulder was last season.

Of all the things to talk about when mentioning Sarunas... the fact that he has routinely snapped at other players, blaming them for his own defensive mistakes, the recent development in which he has fallen to the last guy off the bench, you talk about his free throw shooting? He's not even the best free throw shooter on the team.
nbalive744 wrote:The free throws aren't enough. The Pacers are currently in the 7th seed, only 2 games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers,
Its only 1 now.
Pacers-Bulls tonight at the UC, we need a victory. If you can watch the game (gordon, any chance of you being there tonight?) look for me right behind the P's bench, I'll have a white SJack jersey on.

Indy's turnt on his former loverboy Sarunas. The Pacer fans at RealGM have come up with all sorts of clever nicknames for him, you should use them.
Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:57 pm
Pacers better start winning - I dont want to see Detroit facing them in the first round, they might actually give us some trouble for a 4-0 sweep
